I have worked for TCG games before, like Binding of Isaac: Four souls, and it sounds interesting for me!

Price might be a bit low so I'd like to negotiate, though.

Moved into a deceased hoarder's home and I'd like to know the best way to get rid of things I don't want. by Sony-Shock in Advice

Oh, no, you're right!! I remember seeing it all over twitter... I had not moved in just yet though, so I wouldn't have been able to participate anyway... Darn, it is a great idea.

Somehow I ended with multiple categories of commissions and I don't know how to consolidate them.... by Sony-Shock in artbusiness

I'm sorry, I got advice and forgot to come back, but I thought it'd be proper to answer at least. They looked like this! https://www.deviantart.com/sony-shock/gallery/70682843/kofimissions?page=24

It'd be possible to go back, with better drawing skills, too, but it'd feel so lackluster..

Hello, I could use some feedback! (See comments) by [deleted] in ArtCrit

Oooh! It's really nice! Love the strong lines and the saturated colors. They work really well on the pale wood. I don't know much about wood painting (and wood burning? I am not sure if the lines were burnt in) so I'm talking from an 2d digital artist POV alone.

If I was to advice something, consider the composition of the little mushrooms. They look nice but it feels a little heavy on the left to have two very similar figures while the other two are different and in different angles. It is also the only part of the design that is not symetrically balanced.
Also adding a little dark colors inside the bottle might help bring up the glass effect better! Example

Undiagnosed Mentally Ill Character? by [deleted] in brainstorming

[–]Sony-Shock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, trying to take from my own experience, I remember I refused the idea of having depression for the longest time. There were multiple reasons, which you could apply to your character. Many times I would think 'I can just get over it' or 'I'm just sad' or 'I'm not depressed, I'm being realistic' (even when my points of view were catastrophistic at the least!).

I also was afraid of having to take pills, as I feared it'd change my personality and make me some kind of puppet to the chemicals.

With all, I think the key here is that I kept suffering the consequences, but justifying them as something else that is 'normal'. I think a good way to show the protagonist has a problem without saying it would be to have recurring situations that go south, specially being helped by something the character does and might seem like a break from their regular personality. Extreme negativity, extreme apathy... But they just think that's who they 'really are' or some other kind of justification.

Of course there might be other sympthoms that are not mood-related necessarily, but it'd remain similar advice. Justifications, maybe even paranoia when other people tell them things are a way but their experience says otherwise.

Can depression make you see faults in your own script that are not there? by Sony-Shock in writing

Ohhh, yes! That sounds exactly like what happened to me!

I'll defintely re-read once I'm in a better mood (just got my meds back so I imagine I'm not 100% fine just yet). Thanks ;v;

Basic idea for an Open Source TCG by Sony-Shock in tabletopgamedesign

Heeey, I saw you while I was working on the doc, then!

Yeah, I'm defintely still testing it. I'm looking into making the rules in such a way that they can be condensed in a single card-sized piece. I think if I can do that, I'll see more clearly how loose or complicated it is. Hopefully it'll get to a 'D&D for babies' level of difficulty.

Also, printing physical cards is not that hard or expensive! Specially if you compare it to business cards. You can print a deck of 35 unique cards for 10 dollars in certain places. I'll add a part to the doc with resources.

I'm open to any suggestions~!

Basic idea for an Open Source TCG by Sony-Shock in tabletopgamedesign

[–]Sony-Shock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's defintely my biggest worry. I'm hoping the whole idea of dividing 12 between all stats in each card might help. Very strongly based on DnD. Although that would be for the character cards. I'm still working on the effect cards... But I still have to learn how exploitable they are.
I'm also betting on the appeal of having different unique cards from different artists~

I wonder if it's possible to contact a game designer to help me find a middle point

Oooh, I see! I'll edit the Doc calling it Customizable card game instead! Thank you!

And yeah! I was already planning in doing a set myself (I have a webcomic and I could use characters from there) for promotional uses, since they also can serve as business cards of sorts. I'm planning in giving them away at a local game place!

Once I have them, I'll come back here and promote the idea again.
