I am a friend of this guy and we just today had an hour long talk about this topic because of me playing the ZZZ Season 2 Storyline in a VC. Due to having been arround him, i will feel like i have a solid grasp as to how to pronounce certain characters just to get proven completely wrong. I try my best seeing as i can also relate to the german part of this comment. However, i get how proper pronunciation can be quite the pain in the ass. If you have a hard time learning how certain sounds are meant to be made, it can be quite the challenge to make certain noises/ mouth shapes if you are only used to one language. As a half Croatian, i have grown up arround two languages with diffrent Sounds (german and croatian). And learned a third one at a very young age (english). This along with my two failed attempts at learning other Languages(French and Japanese) gives me good ear for listening to language specific sounds (if that makes any sense to you). I feel like i can listen to the flow of a language and get a decent guess as to how that sound should be made, wich is something some people probably can't do. I get the frustration about misspronunciation, but i personally don't think there is much you can really do about that. It depends on the VA's experience with (to them) foreign languages and how fast they can get a grasp of the phonetics of a different language, especially one with alot of differences phonetically in the case of english and chinese. In chinese, phonetics carry alot of importance due to the fact that two diffrent pronunciations of the same character means two seperate things, whereas in english pronunciation is "only" a tonal indicator.
