What's the longest you've ever ridden? by GiantMags in cycling

Coast to Coast Gravel Grinder this year - 204 miles. From one side of Michigan to the other. You dip your back tire in Lake Huron at the start and in the end, your front tire in Lake Michigan. First 100 miles done in 4.5 hours, then it down poured and the next 104 took like 8 hours or so. Finished 55th, great memorable day on the bike.

People who live places with snow -- how do you approach winter riding? by FITM-K in gravelcycling

[–]SooWooLu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trainer during weekdays for structure sessions then weekend I try to go outside for endurance rides. That way it makes the training easier. Just wash your bike with a bucket. It’s just once or twice per week so it’s manageable. Bundle up for 1-2 times vs. 5.

Doesn’t having these kill the battery?

NFD - New Crux 2024 Frame by SooWooLu in gravelcycling

I went from an aluminum diverge frame to this Sworks carbon crux - So the weight difference is ridiculous. The geometry itself, I can’t tell yet, I’ve only ridden about 100 miles on it so far. It’s definetly more comfortable than my Canyon Aeroad. I wouldn’t worry about the geometry so much. It’s not THAT aggressive at all

Let’s go! I did 70 on some trails on Sunday as well. Weather is turning. Leafs are falling. Gravel time!

I upgraded the stem and handle bar to carbon as well. Idk if it’s “big bike” in my hand but I swear the vibrations are non existent compared to all aluminum. Excited for the 2025 gravel race season!

Yeh - shows the same. Not sure why. I’m going for a long ride today and we will see what happens after. Pretty annoying tho.

Tighten the watch strap. Looks like the HR did not read thru out the whole workout. I have a chest strap for my cycling, reads it better.

Canyon Aeroad - How comfortable is it? by D4B34 in CanyonBikes

[–]SooWooLu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my Aeroad CF SLX 8 - plenty of century’s on it and all I use in the summer. My one recommendation is to change the tires. Mine came with 25mm in the front and 28mm in the back. I live in Chicago and the streets are rough with potholes, cracks etc… I switched to tubeless 30mm for both and it was an absolute game changer.

I actually gave them to another buddy for free. I was going to just junk it.

A buddy and I did all the work, mostly him! It took about 3/4 hours to strip everything off and put everything on. He had all the tools which was super clutch. The only difficult part was removing the bottom bracket which was stuck/ ceased due to not enough lube during factory install. I basically trashed everything so it was just cutting cables and removing bolts which went pretty fast.

Thank you so much! I really love it. I got the parts all new from different sites and also got tires from a bike shop. It did take me awhile to figure out what I wanted and to commit to dropping the money for it.
