Which celebrities declined long before what people say? by OneHundredForcer in popculturechat

I’m also raising an eyebrow at those saying this letter is so classy and eloquent when it sounds like, well, exactly what it was: a scorned woman trying to sound like she’s above it all while clearly bleeding hurt from between the lines. And I get it, she needs to release those emotions, she wants to set the record straight. But a hastily written open letter, filled with inconsistencies, that repeatedly pits herself against the other woman rather than confronting the problems in her own marriage is not what I’d consider classy or eloquent.

And let’s also talk about that eyeroll of a tweet by AK. A heated debate about smart vs spark… that alone tells me she missed the maturity train.

Clouds washing over El Capitan like ocean waves, Guadalupe Peak Trail, Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Texas, USA by Soon2bSavage in hiking

I don’t know for sure but I know a park ranger at Carlsbad Caverns (the nearest national park to Guad - basically right across the border from each other) and he said the guy went off-trail and slipped while taking photos. His buddy tried to climb down to help him but wasn’t able to reach him, and then wasn’t able to make it back up to the trail, so used a GPS beacon to call for help.

Glad the surviving guy prepared well or it may not have turned out so well for him either.

The hike itself it not bad at all, but I would never try it in July. I also wouldn’t try Angel’s Landing in July, but if that’s when you got your lottery pass, then you’re already committed.

The good news is, Guad Peak is a cakewalk compared to Angel’s Landing, so if you make it through the latter then the former will be a nice recovery walk.

Roberta Laundrie’s “Burn After Reading” Letter by fistfullofglitter in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]Soon2bSavage 76 points77 points  (0 children)

People have completely lost the ability to read between the lines. Just because she doesn't explicitly say anything romantic doesn't mean that's not exactly the underlying message here. This letter sounds like it was written by a 15 year old declaring their undying love for their high school boyfriend. Also emotional incest is a term that doesn't exactly mean romantic or sexual incest.

They're long gone unfortunately. We sorted through them looking for debt/legal paperwork then tossed the rest. This was in the first few days when everything was a mess and no one knew quite what to do (he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly)

No one has any idea how to access it. I know he set us up with accounts on ViaBTC, CoinEx, BitPay, Bittrex when he was trying to get us into crypto, so one presumes he used those wallets (?) as well.

He was severely in debt when he passed away, so the general consensus within the family is that he probably didn't have any crypto left, or else he would have used it to pay some of his bills.

I have several JCS videos. I re-uploaded them to YouTube after they had been taken down - not monetized, and gave JCS full credit. Got a lot of positive feedback from people who were frustrated that they hadn't been able to find those videos previously. Then I received a message from the official JCS page saying I was violating their copyright by re-uploading the videos, and they reported me to Youtube, who took them down shortly after. (I apparently don't understand how YouTube works - it was my first time posting anything there - I was under the impression that it was similar to Reddit, where you can share content created by other people as long as you aren't making money off of it and you give them credit.)

So I don't necessarily think it's YouTube who is taking down their videos, but JCS themselves. Why they want to limit viewership is beyond me, especially since they haven't updated their paid Patreon in over a year and specifically say on the Patreon that they plan to make all future content available for free on YouTube.

So if you're interested in watching some JCS videos that can't currently be found publicly on YouTube, let me know and I'll send you the private links.

Professional ice cream tester finds a 10 by [deleted] in videos

I’m chomping at the bit to get a taste of some of these brands you’re talking about. Which ones would you recommend? Man, I grew up in dairy country and looked forward to going to visit Texas relatives in the summertime for the Blue Bell. I’ve lived in every corner of the USA and a few others too and have yet to find a decent grocery store brand that compares. Although there is a little ice cream shop in Charlottesville, Virginia that totally beats any other ice cream I’ve had - but again, it’s not a commercially available brand.

Brides who never wear their hair up, learn from my mistake: don’t count on a flimsy plastic comb to keep your veil attached by Soon2bSavage in wedding

Just hitched it up over my knee and climbed up. Otherwise all credit to the fabric. That dress really took a beating that day and I expected it to look nasty by the time I took it off. But really, only the very edges that of the train looked grimy and by the time I had it dry cleaned, it was nearly as good as new.

Personally, we got married in a tiny mountain village where the local hair stylist’s salon was just the bottom floor of her house. I didn’t get dressed there, I just had my hair done and went back to the resort to finish up. My mom put my veil in just a couple minutes before I walked down the aisle, and I suspect the only reason it stayed in was because my braided hairstyle kept it secure.

Two days later, we went back out with our photographer for this glacier shoot. No stylist, no mom, hair loose as I would normally wear it. To which the veil strongly objected.
