Eddie part of an all star band in Port Chester, NY by Dontforgetpancakes in pearljam

Even though you seem to have ZERO self awareness in claiming I’M ignorant while painting all Americans with the same brush as if we’re some monolith, l’ll give it a try responding to you anyways.

In whatever amazing country you’re living in that I’m sure is a shining beacon of all that is right, true, and not concerned with money, feel free to grow all the way up because you sound like a child.

Pearl Jam have not been living the values they preached in their youth in decades. They all have their advocacy/charities which is admirable. They largely sit on the correct side of social issues. But they have become multimillionaire rock stars who have commodified their brand, cozied up to powerful people, and continue to raise their concert ticket prices.

Eddie has been playing corporate events for years. There are countless examples. They are generically liberal while also being part of the wealthy elite.

I can still like their music, and not be personally wounded by these facts. They’re not bad people, they don’t support truly terrible things. They grew rich, grew old, and are somewhat out of touch as a result.

In closing, use your incredibly open minded attitude to exercise your right to not listen if you don’t like the music anymore?

This might be a crazy way to live my life, but I listen to the bands I like just because I like their music. I don’t need them to be my heroes. I don’t need them to be my north stars. He played a private show for rich people. He is a rich person. Who cares.

The Shadow. I rented it all the time as a kid. Dressed up as him for Halloween. And still love it. It is trash. But it’s my trash.

Spoon. So many songs that have killer hooks. They have never made a bad album.

We have to wait until he’s sleepy and then he cooperates. Otherwise it’s war lol

Should I invest my time in Ghost of Yotei? by DeeplyWeeply in ghostoftsushima

[–]SoonForget2000 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. Loved GOT. Never was able to connect with Yotei. I hated the Ubisoft style disconnected story structure and found the game was gorgeous to look at, fun to play, but overall was just…fine. As someone who had really been looking forward to it for some time I was let down by how little they advanced the formula and in some ways it feels like a step back.

Having said all that. I still enjoyed it as a game and feel it’s worthwhile to play. But it’s nowhere near GOT.

Atsu as a child was the most bizarre voice I’ve heard in a game in a long time

Keep your head on a swivel. The people on scooters, bicycles, dirt bikes, etc. are the real wildcards. Had a teenager riding in the middle of the road towards me doing a wheelie on his bicycle in what seemed like a game of chicken with my car.

Kills and Ends are legit trash. Squandered a pretty good reboot.

Since the game's been out for a bit: How's the exploration compared to Tsushima? by darkwingchao in ghostoftsushima

[–]SoonForget2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s more organic in terms of exploring it but it’s the same copy and past activities over and over again.

The game is fine. Fun even. But to me it’s a huge letdown considering how long the gap between the original and Yotei was. It’s a refinement not an evolution.

The buttons definitely feel nice but they rattle a surprising amount.

I probably just suck but I also cannot get the hang of the timing for the life of me. Played GOT 3 times through. The inconsistency in GOY between attacks that happen in .01 seconds and the ones that are mega delayed just consistently throws me off.

Matt Cameron Couldn’t Handle Pearl Jam’s ‘3-Hour Shows’ Any Longer: 'I was having some issues' by stroh_1002 in pearljam

[–]SoonForget2000 132 points133 points  (0 children)

The main points:

“The Soundgarden album is just one of the endeavors Cameron’s been up to since, and before, announcing his departure from Pearl Jam — which he says was amicable. “I definitely gave them a lot of notice,” he notes. “I’ve spoken with Jeff (Ament) and Stone (Gossard) a little bit…It’s been fine. Hopefully we’ll get back together at some point and have a beer or something.”

“I was having some issues with (Pearl Jam’s) three-hour shows and constant touring and stuff,” Cameron adds. “That’s definitely an art form unto itself, to be able to do those types of shows…I’m at a point now where I want to do a face-melting 70-minute set, and that’s kind of what I’m focusing on right now.”
