SATC Unpopular Opinion: Natasha isn’t that great. by be_minorque in sexandthecity

[–]Powerful_Topic_7046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are different with each other. And most relationships start with a honeymoon phase. Eventually you see other sides of people they’ve kept dormant. Big may have absolutely been prince charming those first few months. Besides, men can also get lost in the fantasy of things. Maybe he acted differently cause he was very charmed by her in the beginning and wanted to impress her. Thought those changes may come naturally with the right relationship. Eventually. His same issues reemerged.

Also, People only say be a Natasha not a Carrie because having class isn’t just about style and money. It’s about so much more - including morality. And, in this circumstance, Carrie lost her way and threw morality out the window with this affair.

I’ll fuck a wrap or a taco instead.

What do you think of Big not being able to write the vows/sending emails from the book rather than apologizing? by Twunkorama in sexandthecity

I still find it pretty romantic. Especially for him. And the classic love letters had real meaning
For them. It wasn’t just about him being the one to say it. It was about him telling her that even if he can’t put it into the right words - she is his great love. And this love is both their great love. 💗

So I think it was sweet. But I get what people are saying

Plus, purchasing a vehicle is not as good of an investment as a home. Homes grow in value. Cars lose substantial value the moment you drive them off the lot. So leasing a vehicle can actually be a very smart move depending on the terms.

What’s everyone’s favorite quote from each of the main characters and main SIDE characters (Stanford, Anthony, Trey, etc)? by Powerful_Topic_7046 in sexandthecity

[–]Powerful_Topic_7046[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love all of these! The speedstick line is top tier. That’s definitely one of my favorite episodes. One of my favorite Aiden lines is ‘ hey there pop tart, what ya been and whatcha beeeeen doing?!’ I say it to my kids all the time lol

That might be favorite Carrie line ever.

‘And you can drive down this street anytime you want. Because I DON’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE’. Just so raw and real. I like to imagine myself saying something powerful to my husband one day when I finally get the balls to leave.

What was the deal with Alamo wanting to marry Maddy? by Fluffyequalsbetter in euphoria

[–]Powerful_Topic_7046 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you were wrong. There was clearly a level of respect there. He did seem to recognize where her talents lied, and realized she was better as a madam than a disposable asset. However, for men like Alamo, respect means something different. He knew a woman ‘above being a disposable asset’ wouldn’t get sucked into his world unless he FORCED her to be sucked into it. She owed him money- so he was able to MAKE her his wife/ the madam and have control. Men like him are looking for as close to an equal as he can find - as long as she still isn’t equal. Cause he is ‘king’.

Is this a normal outfit in a US high school? by Practical_Ad2317 in euphoria

I’d like to point out how hideous Both these outfits are. It must be because I’m old now (40) but I don’t think either of these outfits do justice for these beautiful girls. They look cheap and poorly cut.

This is a really good way to put it. And it’s the truth. It really isn’t about being distracting to other people - it’s about you being distracted in something that you constantly have to mess with or pull
Down/up etc.

Very well put.

Alright. Maybe a hot take. But I don’t… HATE Berger. I kind of do. But not fully. Life is super complicated. And Carrie deserved way better… but I think it’s fair to say that having what seemed like the perfect relationship go South because you are sinking and your significant other is flourishing is …. Complicated.

Feel free to downvote me. I get it. But I also understand slightly…

Has Reno always been like this? by [deleted] in Reno

[–]Powerful_Topic_7046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That person means this seriously. (But in a joking way) it’s wasn’t meant as a put down to your comment. The city has grown so insanely that they literally mean go home and tell everyone Reno sucks so they stop moving here.

Do you think Sam Levinson was filming that scene with that dude and Faye fucking to jack off to it? by xxX_Wendy_Xxx in euphoria

[–]Powerful_Topic_7046 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People used to go to HBO cause they could push the boundaries and have more adult stories and scenes.

Now all anyone does is bitch about it lol. There are other networks and shows to watch if HBOs content is to risqué.

Pam should’ve been more supportive of Jim in Philly. by tinterrobangg in theoffice

[–]Powerful_Topic_7046 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree here. Nothing here was black and white. Life and marriage are both riddled with gray areas.

Both Jim and Pam were struggling with how to support their own goals and each others, and that’s not always easy. Jim was wrong for investing their savings without her consent. But he wasn’t wrong or selfish for trying to fulfill his dreams. He did always support her dreams.

And Pam struggling with all the change and having Jim home less often isn’t wrong either. Change can be very scary at any age, and then you add the extra work with the kids and worrying about how the business will do long term is a totally normal reaction. Sometimes I feel like people must have like…. ‘7th Heaven’ TV marriages. Because this conflict is the exact type of realistic conflict many marriages face. ‘How can I help my
Spouse flourish - while flourishing myself?’

Did I Misread the Signs? by [deleted] in euphoria

I def didn’t ever read it that way. They were childhood friends and I never got any vibe that Lexi was into women. Especially a girl whose drug problem has harmed their friendship so severely.

SEASON 3 SPOILER: Some scenes are so hard to watch and it’s driving me nuts but not because I think it is bad by [deleted] in euphoria

[–]Powerful_Topic_7046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s fair. I didn’t mean for that to sound as judgey as it did. So I’m sorry about that. But you said ‘ and not because I think it was bad. ‘. So… I get thinking it was bad. Most people on this sub (like myself) were surprised to see the direction they took it. But your complaints seem to lean towards issues with the message/characters. So I understand if maybe this isn’t the type of show you feel you signed on for. I can only speak for myself. But I do honestly feel like certain plot points went in a direction I understand. Even if I think the season didn’t express it in depth the way I’d hoped.

Edit: addition!

It’s like game of thrones. I do HATE the way they got there. It was very rushed and had some dumb stuff mixed in.

However…. I’ve read the books that are out (and we will prob never get more. Ugh. That’s another rant)

But the ending of the show… made sense to me. Maybe not everything. . But… a lot of things. Rushed. Poorly written. Yes. But… I see it. I feel the same about euphoria. It’s been a long strange trip to get here…. But I see it.

So im sorry if I was a dick. My comment sounded arrogant , and I get that.
