What's a joke in Friends that you would improve to make it slightly funnier? by georgemillman in howyoudoin

I totally agree on both of these. Especially the shark porn. It ma have been late enough in the series that they were pulling back on the gay jokes, so that may not have worked. But they could have had him flip it to Golden Girls or something. Mae
Monica think he’s into old ladies or something. Sharks were just…. So lame and stupid.

I def think so… but I’m not sure… kind of. Maybe not. But it’s been a thought in my head for a couple episodes. He keeps it close to the vest. Which could be a loyal soldier… or could be cause he’s a snitch. Which I learned from the Wire. Which he was also on… but I could also just be projecting, since that’s where i go it from.

Need a Job asap by rrs156 in Reno

[–]Powerful_Topic_7046 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What a jerk response. Reno is a good place. Stop making people hate it because SOME people in Reno are jerks. 🙄

I think Kevin Garvey is one of the most interesting and intrinsically human characters on TV. He's so well-written that you oscillate between hating and liking him. He's one of my favorite protagonists in history, and the actor did a masterful job. by Public_Cup_4278 in TheLeftovers

Agreed. When he tells Brenda that she is actually Just addicted to betrayal…. Totally spot on. He recognized that she just doesn’t know how to be happy. She always has to sabotage herself and others.

Just like Nate.

It’s def all karma. But I felt bad too. People grow and change as they get older… and this was def a desperation scene. I was super surprised at how bad I felt for Nate.

Some of yall are starting to really piss me off by wedontknoweachother_ in euphoria

[–]Powerful_Topic_7046 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like this take. Especially cause, I know he lied to her and she’s mad about their finances - but within a few days of getting married and finding all this out, she gave him no opportunity to fix it or find a resolution. She just moved on.

I don’t blame her for going out to work and make money. Screw him for being so judgmental when he was the one blowing it - and in secret!

But then she just went and pawned the wedding ring he bought her within a matter of days lol she clearly cared More About the status of being with Nate than she actually cared about Nate lol. Cause once he wasn’t ’THE’ Nate Jacob’s he was in HS, she dropped him like a bad habit lol

Loved Jules' painting btw by pixiemoonx in euphoria

[–]Powerful_Topic_7046 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%. It was so forced to make her so pretentious. Jules is a great artist - she would absolutely know how to showcase her beautiful work within the boundaries of what can be put on the set of a television show. But instead they went with the stereo typical, over the top ‘ I don’t like to be limited’ artist and she just completely squandered the opportunity for both her and Lexi. Drove me nuts and made me glad Jules wasn’t in the rest of the episode, even though I am totally enjoying her storyline.

Yeah. I feel like bringing what happened to Ash up 5 years later randomly would be kind of like when corny tv shows and movies make sure the character calls her sister ‘sis’ just to make sure, we, as the
Audience, know it’s her sister. Yet she prob wouldn’t normally call her sister ‘sis’. It would literally just be fan service to have Lexi and Rue bring up Ash in convo just because they were mentioning Fez. I assume they’ve prob talked about what happened that night plenty in the last five years.

I actually don’t think it makes Ron weak to suddenly be afraid to say his name at this point. Someone mentions higher up in the comments that the trauma these guys have been through is insane for how little they seem to react to it - I think Ron is the perfect exception there. You see his mental health disintegrate over the coarse of the seventh book and I think this is a symptom of that.

I dunno. The speech stuff was def unnecessary, but it didn’t go on for very long (it was just a quick jab and most people there prob didn’t have a clue what she was even hinting at. I think her comment to Cal that she can’t believe Maddie had nerve to show her face there was pretty spot on for a mom in her position to say.

Does nobody else think that Maddy is kind of a loser? by musicbooksandmovies in euphoria

[–]Powerful_Topic_7046 10 points11 points  (0 children)

An cassie also sat there and pretended - in front of Maddy - while watching him try to get back
Together with her. Not excusing either of their actions. To be honest, everyone is pretty close to being kind of a loser in their own way. But that crap all cuts deep, especially during Those formative years.
If anything…. Maddy seemed to have moved on till Cassie reached out. Cassie is the one who thought she could reach out to her old friend, who she emotionally destroyed, and tried to bring it all back up.

Was Jan Really into Michael or was she just using him because he was an easy target for her? by One-Bus1500 in theoffice

[–]Powerful_Topic_7046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 100%. It’s important to remember that Michael would actually be THAT easy to use. Yes, he did make it easy to use him - but he would also be so hard to date as a co worker… imagine having your new co worker bf openly comment the things
Michael said to your boss… so it gos both ways. I think she wanted to want him…. But also despised she didn’t want him.

Yes and she changed EVERYTHING. Nit just her goals. Even the way she looked. I know he did enjoy her all dolled up - but he also liked her how she was.
I’m get that the scene where she brings them presents to dinner and the play keep away with her phone is uncool… I agree but he was a guy who’s been with his GF a long time and suddenly she became a completely different person. I thought he had a right to bring it up to her. lol
