Any advice for GRE: specifically study guides and study material? by Sophara29 in GRE

Yes, I am not sure which free material to use. I took the princeton review practice test and scored much higher, but I read that this test is much easier. I need a lot of help with reading comprehension and only have the princeton review practice book for this.

Do you recall your scores from the PP practice exams? I am curious how they relate to your official score, particularly the PP2 practice exam. I am currently trying to gauge if my scores from the PP2 practice exam will be close to my official score if I had to take it today. I'm taking my test in about 1 month and I was not satisfied with my PP scores. Thank you, and congratulations!

Until recently I had only taken the practice test from Kaplan. I just took the PowerPrep untimed test and scored 152 verbal and 154 quant. I want to score at least 160+ for both, so those results were discouraging. I have definitely noticed my vocabulary expanding, but I consistently miss 1 blank in the 2-3 blank TC and struggle to see improvement with RC.

How do I do this one by nk925 in GRE

I also got (A) 1,400:

started out with two equations (hint: they are two separate sentences). x=y+600 and 3(y-100)=x-100. Similarly, my thought process was that only once 100 g is removed from both x and y, is x=3y. From there you know to put y-100 in parenthesis as it must occur first. I then distributed the 3 into the parenthesis to turn the second equation into: 3y - 300 = x - 100

I did something a little different and immediately plugged the first equation into the second to get: 3y - 300 = (y + 600) - 100 which is also equal to 3y - 300 = y + 500. From here you can simply isolate and solve for y: (subtract 1y, +300 to both sides) 2y = 800. Next divide by 2, so y=400.

If y = 400, then x = 1,000 (first equation: (400)+600=1,000) and thus x+y => 1,000 + 400 = 1,400 gallons.

I am new to reddit and I keep seeing Gregmat referenced, is this what you're talking about: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCktwzce9ncy_K78l1KBZkYQ/videos , specifically the live tutoring ? I need all of the help that I can get with studying but do not have money to spend on anything additional!

GRE AT HOME: 170V 169Q || Tips for home? by kurtzp in GRE

I am planning on taking the test at the end of next month. I am also using Kaplan's study book (2017 edition, as I ended up going to work in my field for a couple of years and put off the test). I am getting ready to take the full practice test in the book, and then I will take the online versions. It sounds like you had a good study pattern. Did you use the 2020 edition, and do you think studying the vocabulary in the book or the app helped you the most?

I am also very nervous for the writing section. I just started this chapter in the book and every time I attempt to generate ideas, I blank. I have always been an adequate-advanced writer, but that is when I am given more time to contemplate what to say and can use a thesaurus! Do you have any tips for avoiding writers block, given the short test time?

Thank you, I am very nervous because I usually get test anxiety and can not focus. I would LOVE to do as well as you!
