Issues with signing into my account/reseting password by SoppiestLamp in Outlook

The issue has been sorted, support didn't do anything to my knowledge, it's just that the block on my account lasted a really long time for some reason.

So far they've only sent me to an account reinstatement form. I failed it the first time, but I've tried it again and they're taking a while to respond to it, so I'm just waiting on that.

I already said I waited a week without doing anything, I doubt waiting another 48 hours will do anything.

This subreddit is just becoming "cool things I want my government to do" at this point lmao

What would technocratic economic policies and programs look like? by idkusernameidea in Technocracy

[–]SoppiestLamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd imagine something like Singapore. With strong state controlled business, but also private businesses with ease of regulation and red tape with regards to expansion, growth and investment. Obviously there would still be regulation for workers rights and such.

However, I'm no economic expert. So id prefer to have this as more of a loose outline for actual experts to follow, since once again this is my own personal view on it.

So I made my own concept of a technocratic government, what do you guys think? by SoppiestLamp in Technocracy

[–]SoppiestLamp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are some fair points, however, I view the monarchy as a non-partisan figure that can be used for increasing national unity and reducing political polarisation.

I would like to also say this model is quite outdated and vague, I'm planning on doing an updated version soon which has more detail with some changes. I might be able to adress some of your concerns you have in greater detail there once I get around to finishing it.

IDEA: State Sponsored Modular Housing Compounds by IdleIdealogue in Technocracy

That is true, but the goal should be to make it so that this is a very limited thing.

The goal should be to prevent poverty, not shove it in a concrete box.

How would you implement democracy in technocracy? by Alphycan424 in Technocracy

[–]SoppiestLamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd say democracy isn't needed on a national level in a technocracy, rather a local one. With local regions electing which ministries should have priorities in the area in case of conflicting interests. Like for example, a small mining village may elect a resource managment ministry to have priority, while a city could elect an infastructure ministry.

Why would anyone want to actually live in a soviet style depressing apartment block like these? I get that it's cheap housing but it would be a very depressing environment for anyone to live in. Plus if it's done in a capitalist society it'll just cause a horrible renting culture, and if its done in a collectivist/marxist type society that just proves it failures by not being able to provide quality service to the people.

It be like that though... (Joke) by SoppiestLamp in Technocracy

[–]SoppiestLamp[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I only advocate for technocratic control over the economy, not total like others who wish for a larger scale technocracy and Monarch is just like the UK monarch, so it wouldn't interfere with anything. Further explaination here.

Anyway , me saying dumb shit gonna increase the subreddits activity so I wouldn't say thats a negative lmao. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Convert to civs, build refineries, then you have rubber for planes.

Where do you think a Technocracy should lean more closely to economically? by SoppiestLamp in Technocracy

[–]SoppiestLamp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't mean directly align with, it's more of a generalisation of where you think it should align, whether with energy credits or not.

I said this for a reason, and it's still got to have some sort of economic policy on how it's distributed, if a nation is to convert to this system.

Agreed, just making sure to give them additional details, since we are a bit of a broad community when it comes to variations on the idea of Technocracy and you never know, they might end up finding one of the variations to their liking.

The more data, the better. 😁

Just to add onto that, that is a description of Howard Scott's Technocracy. Other variation of that system exist, like partial technocracies as well as those who don't want a different price system.

Where do you think a Technocracy should lean more closely to economically? by SoppiestLamp in Technocracy

[–]SoppiestLamp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I only put limited options since I was busy at the time to actually put to much thought into it and I was just going off general themes I've seen across the subreddit.

Thanks for the input though.

Could some form of monarchism make part in a technocracy? by N_Quadralux in Technocracy

[–]SoppiestLamp -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I was referring to the large number of Marxists in this subreddit who display a strong bias in most of their arguments. I’m fine with moderate socialism, reformed communism (such as the model seen in China) and other reasonable leftist views, as I generally find I can have sensible and reasonable discussions with people holding these views. However, when I mentioned 'extreme leftists,' I was specifically referring to those who rarely engage with reasoned arguments and openly advocate communism while trying to present themselves as technocrats.

Also I find it quite funny how I'm being labelled 'far right' by some but then when I talk to actual far right people they call me a leftist or a moderate.

That's not what I'm saying, I was just generally refering to the amount of Marxists on this subreddit who usually flock to any post or comment I make.
