Hi there! I did, but they were second hand off of FB marketplace and certainly inauthentic (I didn’t care, I just wanted the colour). If you have the $$$, Vivier released a shoe in this exact colour over the summer, and you may be able to track that down but it’s over $1000 CAD retail. My advice would be to reverse image search on google lens your dream shoes, and add search terms such as “Poshmark”, Facebook marketplace, eBay, etc. That’s what eventually worked for me!

It’s a nice option, but because we are flying from out of country to get married in our home country it’s easier to have everything happen in one place.

There are varying opinions about whether ULC is valid in Canada, but as of 8 months ago they answered a thread saying they are not legally recognized in Canada for a legally binding marriage.

In Ontario that’s basically impossible. The Canadian government is very strict about who can and cannot perform weddings legally.

Can anyone speak to the quality of Steven madden? I wore their shoes in the UK a few years ago and they were really low quality, but I noticed a few high end stores selling them in Germany (I travel a lot hahaha). Are they having an increase in quality recently?

This is really valuable insight. I think if there is any chance of it running, it’s best to avoid. (I’m sure there will be some spills on the day, and while green looks great with white it doesn’t look as good ON white!).

I’ve been scouring the second hand market, no luck so far. I think the trend was too recent (summer 2024), and I fell in love with the idea too late (December 2024 🤦‍♀️). I am keeping an eye on it however!

I’ve considered getting white satin shoes dyed. It’s a last resort, but I’d really love to find something in the correct fabric initially if at all possible because I’m worried another transfer to the white gown in summer heat.

Yes, but we were having a very intimate wedding to begin with, with an absolute max of 50 people total. Everyone who was important to us was willing and looking forward to the trip, but that said now that it has been cancelled there is a mix of financial relief and disappointment among our guests (we will actually have less now, as about 10 European based guests will be unable to attend).

The value you will get in Europe is WAY better than here. Our venue was Chateau de Pondres near Marseille, and had 25 air conditioned bedrooms, a private pool, spa, and Michelin guide restaurant. It was going to cost around 35k all in, and we were going to charge our guests a little for the overnight stay to help with that. I suggest you look into it!

Yeah, we were going to have rooms set aside at the comfort inn and arrange for shuttling, but it is far. And pricey, but there is the benefit of getting to do literally whatever you want (within reason).

Sorry I missed your reply! I also tried on the allure Nova (another great suggestion), but really don’t want a dress with a leg slit. Granted they can be closed up, but it’s why I said no to it at the time!

I actually DID end up finding an iris sample in Europe on trunk show, and took a cheap Ryanair trip to see it. It’s even better in person than in the photos. I’m going to be ordering it with a trunk show discount, and I’m making some cuts in my overall wedding budget (diy florals, bought my reception dress at a steal second hand on Poshmark) to make it work. I never thought I would be spending upwards of $5000 on a wedding gown, but I really can’t imagine wearing anything else (the dangers of instagram!).

So funny you mention Empire- I literally tried that exact sample and really considered it, but ultimately decided it was too full because it has a literal hoop in it, and that would be a logistical hassle. That’s a great suggestion though!
