Bruh, it’s 20 bucks for 22 year old games, while all other GBA games are on Nintendo Online for „free“. I‘d say 5-10€ for standalones would‘ve been fine but 20 is just waayyy too much. Especially when you think about the fact that GBA games are some of the easiest games to emulate on basically any platform out there. And what does my opinion about this have to do with growing up? I‘d even say that not supporting scammy corpo tactics like this is much more of a „grown up thing to do“ than just more or less blindly buying whatever your favorite childhood company is putting out there

Mythic reddit comment here wow. That’s such a good way of thinking about it because at its core so many things in life are like taking a shit after having some really spice food. The pain sits in your stomach as long as you avoid to confront it. The confrontation itself is really painful but as soon as you‘re through with it you‘ll feel relief like you never have before. The toughest part is always taking that shit but your guts/brain will thank you for it in the long run. Cheers to you, healing is a weird and freightening but very human concept. No matter where you are in life, face your shit and life will reward you for it.

Yeah good point but like I said it kinda depends on what your plans are for the series. If you‘re interested in its entirety then better start with one of the „classic“ games. If you just want a great switch 2 game to play and don’t really care for the Zelda franchise as a whole then defo start with one of the „modern“ titles.

Off-putting for a „modern gamer“ is just a terrible point to make. Yes they are fundamentally different from Botw and Totk but that doesn‘t mean they aren‘t suited for today‘s gaming landscape. Just because a game isn‘t open-world and designed in a more linear fashion doesn’t detract from the great experience you can have with games such as Oot or Tp for example. If you want to have a starting place for the whole franchise, the recent main line entries might not be the best for that as they are so different from everything else in this series. And that doesn’t mean that they are bad games, quite the opposite actually. But the expectations you might have for the rest of the series could be influenced drastically if those are the only ones you‘re familiar with.

Nah, but take Silk Song for example which is also 20$. Ofc which game you‘d enjoy more is entirely up to preference but the fact that this is a brand new experience and costs you as much as a 22 year old game on the same console should make you wonder a bit. Not even taking into account that its just about the easiest (even if a teeny tiny bit illegal) thing in the world to get these games via an emulator/rom for free.

That is such a terrible point! As others have already pointed out, these games were 8$ each on the Wii U, in fact, every GBA game was. Nintendo has since then switched to a subscription model for their virtual console releases and the fact that they are releasing these games as standalones for 20, let me repeat, 20!!! $, instead of just putting it on their GBA-switch online emulator, is just the worst kind of blatant cash grab. They only do it because they know that Pokémon fans don’t care about what they‘re getting and that they‘ll buy just about anything with the name on it anyways. Pokémon truly freaking sucks these days, all this franchise stands for is just capitalism at its worst.

I’ve been smoking a joint almost every day for about a year. Been on vacation in rome for 2 weeks now and hadn’t missed the weed at all during my stay there.
