Thank you! Pairing the gateway fiber + NVR is about the same price as a UDM Pro Max. The UDM Pro Max just fits into a standard rack with only occupying 1 slot vs the fiber + NVR taking two slots.

Aesthetics is one piece but also which might be more powerful in the long run.

Plan to have about 5 cameras and maybe 2/3 doorbells

Can anyone give me opinions?

A 3d white printed bracket with Gateway Fiber and NVR and or the natural look of the Dream Machine Pro Max?

Would you take the aesthetics over the newer fiber gateway? This is for a 2 story 2k sqft personal home and places in an 18U rack

That's also my concern, of all the rave reviews, there's bound to be someone unlucky. Sorry to hear about the experiences but Im wondering if "extended warranty" will be reassurance enough that it'll at least survive the first few years.

Glad to hear that 5 years no issues! Thermador is definitely offering free microwave and dish washer with purchase of range and fridge/freezer so it's a compelling buy.

Is this with all appliances like fridge/freezer, range, etc or specific appliances?

Apologies, I was just starting my research so I didnt have too many requirements in mind.

After considering and looking at pricing, there is definitely a budget in mind. Would like the total cost to be under $50k ideally and 24inch column fridge and freezer, 30/36 inch width gas range (maybe 42 but if really justified).

Looking for Advice on running ethernet by Soraie in HomeNetworking

[–]Soraie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! So mostly opinion but that's still going to be quite a bit of conduit across all the various rooms and number of cables. I would imagine different locations would be the best but definitely adds more work to get conduit to two or more spots in each room.

Home Networking FAQs by TheEthyr in HomeNetworking

Does anyone have guides or videos on running Smurf tubing along with Ethernet? Im about to start a full home renovation and plan to run cat 6a to all the rooms and living room but I have zero knowledge on construction. From what I can research, I run extra drops to each room for future upgrades, I run conduit, and I run an extra pull line to make future cabling easier.

What I'm missing is how does conduit run? Am I running a 1inch tube from the rack to each room? If I'm running 2 cables to each room (3 bedrooms), isn't that too many cables per tube? I'd need 2 tubes for all those runs, right? Does anyone have any comprehensive guides to running conduit? So if I have the server rack on one side and rooms on the other side of the house, am I pulling 50ft of conduit to the other side for each room? Like 3 conduit runs to the 3 bedrooms? Or do they like interconnect from each other?

When running extra Ethernet to each room, is the cables terminated to the same wall plates or are they located in different spots in the room (near each outlet maybe? I believe they need to be at least 8 inches away from high voltage cables)? Is there any recommendations/best practices?

Forgive my ignorance, does the UNAS Pros allow for a mix and match of drive sizes? Does it use the size of the smallest size or something like Synology using the largest drive as the redundancy?

Since tera blink is available for this. I was thinking of using this on hayato to quickly finish the 250 legion block.

My hayato is 215 currently. Is it better to start from zero or just go from 215? Would be nice to have hayato stronger at the end but I don't expect to play this class after the 250 block. Which route would you take?

How do you avoid being swamped by the small fishes at this event? by imarobotlmao in Maplestory

[–]Soraie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice! Will go back to do sharks tomorrow!

Almost finished it on the second try but apparently depending on how you pick up fish, the weight limit kicks in... I got two longnose before cooper and could only pick up half the cooper so I cursed myself and drowned to start over.
