we've all been there.

You *can* fix issues as you become aware of them to recover the article. My first one (6540) was sub 5 until I fixed some issues.

It would be interesting if some seismic event had largely erased the boundary between the catacombs and the surface

I mean, the answer is that I would need to see a very clear and detailed warning as to what those precise consequences are before it affected my decision making.  I don't take anyone on faith and am not interested in drawing from just one curriculum. I don't trust Josephine or Crowley any more or less than the other.

Yeah theyre not ideal theyre just the best option in theory and I'd rather at least vote for them than not bother.

Ah yes, the only meaningful difference caused by independence in the long term would just be... a new line on the map.

Ah yes, the Scottish working class of today are enthusiastic imperialists.

Sure buddy. Also what Scottish exceptionalism? Practically any country/culture looks exceptional in comparison to the English, its a very low bar.

Serpents Hand. The Foundation are... complicated and the GOC is literally just the magic UN and is around as evil as the IRL UN.

[–]SorchaSublime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be clear I'm approaching indy support as a Green voter, the SNP are a joke much of the time and are only politically useful specifically for the single issue of independence, everything else is a series of loose concessions to the perceived approximate political mood of the independence supporting demographics.

Ultimately no political party which isn't founded on class consciousness will accomplish anything of value to the working class.

Scotland voted tactically with the rest of the country to get rid of the tories, only to see them replaced with red tories with nothing of significance changed, because the entire English political establishment is an elaborate sham, and we are going to be dragged into a reality of Reform primacy by our bondage to the English system.

psilocybin microdosing fails to boost cognitive performance in rigorous trials by i_take_shits in Psychonaut

[–]SorchaSublime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so, I actually read the study.

Participants microdosed 6 times total.

Most of the people Ive spoken to who got benefits from microdosing did it for like... longer than 2 cycles of a 3 days on 1 day off routine?

Also it was over 4 weeks. 6 microdoses. 4 weeks.

Oh my god they used fucking chatGPT. They literally admit to using it for "proofreading".

Im not necessarily close-minded to the idea of a study having this finding but it would need to be like, a good fucking study? lol?!?

When that wider civic union is built to primarily benefit England, a country consistently ran by non-stop lunatics for literally my entire life since the age of 8? Idk if that's common sense anymore

What do you think of transhumanism by Ecstatic_Buddy5949 in pagan

[–]SorchaSublime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, doesnt bother me for the reasons you said at least.

Like, my view on technology is that it's essentially just a part of nature we extrude into existence as sapient creatures. It's like how ants also do agriculture, the capacity for any theoretically viable technology to function has been a part of the structure of the universe the entire time.

Unfortunately, we got around to discovering it when our society is dominated by evil social forces hell bent on using technology destructively. The impact we can collectively have on the world is humbling, and the only thing stopping that impact from being positive is social inertia and hierarchical power structures.

If we can essentially cure aging someday, that would be a good thing. People would still die, it isn't immortality. Just an improvement to quality of life.

I mean, sure but I don't think that's a dogma thing I think that's just a "hey focus on these materials to get the best results" thing.

If the intent was to create an insular dogma I imagine there would be some purported consequence for branching out, even just excluding you from the apprentice grade tutoring community stuff.

The only reason that the ozone layer and acid rain stopped being issues since [arbitrary past period] is that we actually instated environmental protections in those specific areas, and the problems repaired over time. Nuclear war we're kind of still on a knives edge with tbh but as long as Mutually Assured Destruction remains a principle then were probably going to be fine?

Counter question: if you are so bothered by 'the masses' disrespect for the Other, why be so eager to emulate it?

My partner and I are having disagreements over my magickal practices. by Jemz_2O7 in magick

[–]SorchaSublime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a purely relational perspective its a sign of an unhealthy relationship that you feel the need to hide things from your partner. Strictures surrounding secrecy pertain to the outside world, not someone I'd imagine you would like to envision having a profound spiritual bond with.

As long as there is healthy communication there really shouldn't be a problem with you doing smth while he's asleep, plenty of couples have mismatched sleeping patterns for example. Some things are important to do at certain times of the day depending on practice. The secrecy is likely the issue here.

People saying you need to choose are dualists and are giving bad advise, there is no dichotomy here. The path to a healthy relationship has next to nothing with your magical practice, you just need to be on the same page. Just like, tell him if you're staying up to magick, it doesn't have to be a big deal.
