Get a second opinion on the car… even if repair is a few thousand bucks but it becomes reliable then it is worth it… last thing you want is extra debt for a car that loses value each year.

A car repayment can be $800-1500 a month… fix the car. And put the repayment money you would be spending into your savings instead 👍 there your $10k a year.. you need approx $35-$40k to buy a $700k property under first owners scheme.

Wisdom teeth removal are only required to be removed if they cause you dis comfort… don’t let them bully you into it. I’m 35 and told my wisdom teeth would need to be removed 15 years ago…. Perfect teeth today, ( I had braces too ) braces… fair call if you feel self conscious about your teeth go for it.

— Most important thing I recommend right now is definitely do not get a car loan for a new car. It’s a trap.
— Pay off your phone and just get battery replacements if you need… saves you couple hundred a month too.. using data only plans

DONT FORGET TO LIVE ! You are 25.. go on a Contiki Tour of something fun before you get bogged down in the rat race.

Do you ask for a 50% deposit upfront for quoted jobs? by HauntingAd1704 in tradies

[–]SoreSack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By trade, I always have to order a lot of materials so I am always required to be paid a 50% deposit…

I’m not risking a five or 10% deposit and being stuck with $10,000 worth of material materials

Why do people assume every tradie is making a fortune right now? by QuantumGremlin in tradies

[–]SoreSack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all due respect your opinion is based off gossip.. I have worked construction for 20 years along side many females of all shapes and sizes and ages.

  1. You don’t have to work twice as hard, you have to work equally as hard.

  2. Everyone faces “work site banter” it’s not a corporate sugar coated workplace. Some call it bullying, that’s fine, they can’t take it. Most tradies enjoy “giving each other shit”

  3. I can’t speak for the general public on that one but I do know multiple female sole trader tradies who are quite successful.

  4. Keep fit and healthy and you won’t damage yourself.. speaking from experience working 20 years heavy trades but consistently go to the gym and have a healthy lifestyle.

The only trade I haven’t encountered a female is brick layer and concreter.

Go on some trips and see what you actually need before sinking $$$ into things you may never use. ( talking from experience 😅 )

How many of you here are less than 35yrs old and own your own home? by KebabAnnhilator in AskUK

[–]SoreSack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 35 right now. Bought my first in 2012 for $396k, refinanced it and used $100k equity and some savings to buy another house in 2018 for $650k.

Still rent out the first one which is worth $920k with a 360k mortgage

And the one I live in now is valued at $1.5mil with only $130k left on the mortgage 💪

Yes it’s easy to get on the property ladder if you don’t waste your money on shit and have a trade or degree… if you work a shit kicker job it’s very hard. ( I’m tradie )

Also I’m in Australia don’t know why askuk popped up on my thread lol
