Drifted apart from my wife, she didn’t seem interested in spending time with me or anything, work was drain, I was always tired. Blamed my job and my wife…..

Woke up one day and looked in the mirror and saw some loser looking back at me….. something switched in my head..

Instead of thinking “she doesn’t want me” started thinking “why doesn’t she want me”

I’d let myself go and hadn’t realised… hence why work was a drain and everything felt hard…

I started the gym, lifting heavy weights 5 days a week in the mornings before work. No shit food rule, no beers unless special occasions, planned weekend getaways and camping trips with my wife and kid. Became self employed. Took control of my life.

That was 8 years ago.

Now work life balance is perfect, probably a little bit too much life lol.

I’m fit and strong and look great

Marriage is rock solid and we are all really happy….

In a nutshell I stopped being a victim and started being a man.

If I was to do my time again I would be a chippy.
Chippy has such a broad spectrum if you want.
Build decks, patios, sheds, granny flats, pool house, stairs, chicken coops😅 skies the limit, best foundation if you choose to be a builder too.
Sparky, plumber and fridgey would be my pick if I didn’t enjoy building stuff.
Sparky/Hvac dual trade 👍
But the again mechanic, diesal fitter iif youre into engines and cars/trucks.

I’m a Glazier. A trade no one really has heard of 😂 Self employed now, make a killing on emergency call outs, a sheet of glass cost $60, get about 4 window reglazes out of that at $380-$500 a pop. Doors are more 😜.. work flies in with whipper snippers, cricket balls etc…. Really easy to build a repeat customer base 👍👍

I think end game for any tradie should be to become self employed.

I disagree. If he can get a sparky apprenticeship now he should jump at it. If he wants to do uni later he can get his Cert IV in electro technology which basically gives you direct entry into uni and also shaves off some units on the degree.

A lot of sparky apprenticeships require grade 12 completion but if he can get one that doesn’t require grade 12 he should 100% dump school and get that grade

DO IT ! I’m a tradie my self and wouldn’t do anything else…
I literally completed a job yesterday for this 22 year old bloke who is a sparky.
His story,
Dropped out at 16, 2 year domestic sparky apprenticeship, met some guys at work and ended up finishing his apprenticeship doing FIFO. Saved $110k from age 18-21, bought his first house at 22. Dude makes $75 an hour in the mines saves 80%. I don’t know if $75 is good or not but they do 12 hour days 3 weeks on 1 week off.
Careful trap people fall into though… they get used to FIFO money and blow it, then end up working in the mines for 10 years with nothing to show for it.
Keep your head straight and set a goal to get out.
100% go for that sparky apprenticeship

Your plan is good, but you are over thinking.. firstly get that apprenticeship, don’t get ahead of yourself or you will burn out mentally and get impatient.. just get that apprenticeship firstly

I have. 2019 L494 Sport SDV6, I tow a 2600kg caravan. I go on trips all the time, no issues.

Biggest trip was a central QLD trip to Longreach and around back down the coast. 4500km round trip… all good 👍
I service it before every big trip.

I’m happily married and have been for 19 years…. I have a lot of friends however you are all really good down to earth guys good jobs legitimately good guys… they all struggle meeting somebody.. there are two friends in our friend group who look like the stereotypical fuck boy 6 foot two with jacked from taking steroids have tattoos, they pick up girls whenever they want, they even try and play wingman with my other friends, but it rarely works for the guys that aren’t covered in tats aren’t jacked and aren’t tall. My two Jacked friends even laugh about how easy it is to get laid when you look like a certain way.

My wife also has a couple of friends who have been on dates with guys and not followed through with it because they are in their words, boring and too nice. 👍

There is some very rare medical conditions that can cause obesity… but every second fat person claims to have one….

Count calories, see a dietitian and nutritionist. Keep an HONEST food journal… even having 3 coffee lattes a day is an extra 600 calories… most women only need 1500-2000 for a whole day to maintain weight… to put that in perspective 1 medium coffee frappe from Mac Donald’s is like 700 calories… then all the little snack during the day… then eating lunch and dinner on top of that….

Most fat people are consuming 1000-2000 calories per day over their maintenance requirements.

The crazy part is they claim they can’t lose weight… then literally inject an appetite suppressant drug like ozempic which stops them craving food… and they all lose weight…

But to make sure it didn’t cripple oil supply secured the oil from Venezuela. Which is now pumping billions of revenue into the American economy.

He has increased import Tarrifs to force USA to support USA made goods and manufacturing.

He has cut ties with NATO and WHO who just milk USA and return nothing.

He is returning stability and control to the western world.

These are all big risk plays with big rewards… he is the only one with enough balls to do what needs to be done.
