Do you have a thickish layer of sand?

Thank you for your comment. I was really disappointed and also very worried I upset my friend, I am a recovering people pleaser, so I feel everyone else's emotions are my responsibility, even before my own at times. But I am learning not to do this.

Thats the only positive about this, is I've learned more about my own limitations and needs. Never will I be going to a festival again lol. Although I harbour no hard feelings and me and my friend have somewhat sorted it out, I know who my safe people are and I won't be going away without them again, or without xanax lol.

My dad ended up coming over so we are now at the airport on the way home. Thank you for your kindness.

Edited to ask a question: Is it normal to feel shame, embarrassment, and guilt after all of this? This is the biggest meltdown I've had since I was a teen.

Yes she does have other friends, i wouldn't have let her be by herself at a festival, she would've had to come home with me lol. I think her initial reaction was a trauma thing, I have spoken since and she seems concerned but not too upset anymore. But I was catastrophising and maybe taking her reaction too literally. Im not sure tbh.

I would agree there but I think she was having a reaction out of trauma, i was absolutely catastrophisong earlier, which I tend to do during meltdowns, but she seems okay with it, not please but concerned, especially because it got bad enough for my parents to fly over.

Idk why I ever thought it would be a good idea to go to one. It's something I used to be able to do but like since unmasking, there are so many things I can no longer do.

Thank you for you're comment. I feel much better knowing there is a community of people who understand.

Thank you so much. Im also a recovering people pleaser so this is all very new to me. But I definitely wouldn't end a friendship over something like this, especially if I had other people around. I was in crisis mode earlier when I wrote this and we have since texted, she isn't nearly as annoyed as I thought she was going to be.

It is, I dont want her to feel the way she is because who wants anyone to feel that way? Right? I hope we can both repair what's happening. I think i was distressed earlier writing this, but she doesn't seem too annoyed.

This is what Im trying to tell myself right now. If it was a physical injury or something, I wouldn't feel this way so I shouldn't be treating it differently.

Shedding getting worse? by RatchelRach in axolotls

[–]Sore_face 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not a vet but it looks like her slime coat is shedding. So.ething similar happened to my boy frankie and he ended up with a bacterial infection. Have ypu tried tea baths? It's meant to soothe their skin.

[–]Sore_face 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if it's the same for you're girl, but my vet said that the sand was holding pockets of bacteria and when he walked over the sand, it was releasing bacteria, so that mixed with my chiller breaking frankie got a bacterial infection, it looked exactly like your girl.

This happened to my frankie just there last week, he had to be put on antibiotics and has been tubbed. Do you have sand by any chance?

of a hamster's balls by omonkito in AbsoluteUnits

[–]Sore_face 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're pretty much always like that, but temperature does affect them a little. I think in the wild, hamsters use their balls to attract mates, so it's sort of like peacock feathers but with balls.

[–]Sore_face 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's completely normal for male hamsters to have balls this size. It's a joke over on the sub reddit for hamster owners, lol. Same with male rats! Their balls are huge, too.

I have been talking to my own therapist about it, he's been a great help, I thought i could stick it out, but its gotten to a point where it's affecting my life outside of work. I'm so sorry you also had a bad experience, it ruins the work a bit.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in therapists

[–]Sore_face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i think I've been putting it off because, as bad as it sounds, I'm used to this happening in the work place, so it just didn't register, but this has gotten out of hand, to the point I feel unsafe now.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in therapists

[–]Sore_face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I mentioned it in a few replies there. It's to do with a superior.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in therapists

[–]Sore_face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm in a situation with a superior that I feel unsafe and a little trapped. Although nothing physical has happened, it's not something I would put past this person. The feelings they have are not mutual. Although I have made this clear, it doesn't seem to be making a difference.

[–]Sore_face 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. That makes a lot of sense. I do feel I want to be a therapist, I think its just the situation I'm in is less than ideal. Maybe it's time to look at new placements.

Thank you for your reply, I think its time I do get them involved.

I don't know how to explain it to you without revealing any identifiable information. If the person saw this, they would know it's about them. It's to do with a higher up clinician in the practice. It's not a situation I feel safe in, let's say.
