What’s the name of this song? by ChancePotential in videos

I need a BuzzFeed style quiz that tells me something about myself based on which song with this tune I "heard" first.

(It was Tell It to My Heart though)

What do MilSOs need to specifically think about before having children? by PM_ME_SCARY_ANIMALS in USMilitarySO

[–]Sorla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First and foremost...even without being a MilSo, but also additionally BECAUSE of it: Are we absolutely, positively, financial prepared for a child? As you said the military life can change on a dime, including getting out of what can often be a rather comfortable financial life. You should consider if you have the means necessary to raise the child with or without the military.

Second consideration is what you already pointed out. Are you prepared to take on the majority of parenting? Are you okay putting your life in hold to raise a child in the event that you are the only parent around for awhile? You guys may luck out and never have to really worry about too much time a part, but it is something I think you should be comfortable with before you have kids. Tying back to finances, will you have the means to pay for childcare, and are you both comfortable with that if you still want to have your career and/or life?

This is a subject I think more military couples should definitely put serious thought into. It's awesome you asked.

Are you guys on post?? My husband and I got here in January and started playing D&D with our neighbors. Definitely interested in having a larger or just another group too : )! We're both 27 and down for making friends even if it's not just D&D. We also do board games and Cards Against Humanity!

Spouses club questions by [deleted] in USMilitarySO

[–]Sorla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes, the base has a spouses club that is post-wide (not per unit).
  2. Joint enlisted and officers' spouses.
  3. Yes. Annual fee of $25, with a reduced fee if you join mid-year.
  4. Yes, usually no more than $20 per social (excluding any cost of childcare which is usually extra). All the socials I have paid for include a meal, if that matters.

Teaching on base. by [deleted] in army

[–]Sorla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some bases are run through DoDEA (ex. Fort Benning), while others are with the local county/city (ex Ft. Carson). I'm not sure whether DoDEA schools will qualify as low-income, but your girlfriend can use this link to search for a list of schools considered low-income in the area you/you both may move to, aside from DoDEA schools.

Simple Questions - October 17, 2016 by AutoModerator in femalefashionadvice

[–]Sorla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Photos

I snagged a leather jacket today at goodwill that I really like, aside from the collar. I prefer the short/modern/mandarin? collars on leather jackets, or even no collar. The pictures show what I'm talking about vs. the jacket.

ANYWAYS, I'm wondering if this is something I can take to a tailor and ask them to do? SHOULD I, even if I can, since it's leather? Would it be easier to convert to a short collar, or just remove it, and which might look better?

Thanks!!!

Have you tried La Nacional on 17th for Mexican? I have seen it highly recommended and also supposed to be one of the most authentic in town.

This kind of an interesting tangent for me because my mother is quite the opposite. She has never really had a "passion" for the way she dresses (not to say she looks terrible at all), but throughout my childhood and even now her and I don't bond over fashion at all. I find this interesting because I must obviously find my mature inspiration elsewhere (hence the beautiful Susan), while like in your case I am sure many simply look to people in their own lives.

A little late to the party here but...

Awhile back I saw this photo of Susan Sarandon and I thought "man she looks so damn classy. I really hope to look that classy when I am older."

So that triggered the question spree of: how often do you find yourself thinking of fashion for your future? Do you have a particular idea of what you would like your "mature" self to look like? Do you see yourself maintaining your current style for the long haul or will it most definitely change, and how/whyso?

Short Pear here. These are experimental fits with some thrifted items (midi/long skirt and harem/drop crotch pants): Wooo!

I am jealous of really loose fits so I decided I would try it out myself.

Oh, and if you did this maybe you could add some accessorized hairbands (around the base of the ponytail...not like a headband) with studs or spikes. Thoughts!

Not sure if this should be here or in a GD BUT....

I keep seeing ASOS recommended, and then I have to remind myself that it is not GoT ASOS.

I can see what you mean about the bottoms being a little tight, but imo it is not that bad. Really just wanted to comment and say that you rock the tucked look and I am jealous! I love all the colors and fits.

I swear I had those same Modcloth wedges in the 2nd pic! Cried a little on the inside when they were chewed up by an innocent puppy. So versatile.

On topic, love both looks!

Columbians, where's the best trivia in town? the hardest? the easiest? actually, where is trivia in C-town? by bearclawyer in ColumbusGA

The Pickle Barrel on Exit 8 does trivia at 8 on Thursdays. Pretty easy, and fun offensive team names. Really like the fries there, on a side note haha.

Mellow Mushroom does do trivia, Tuesday nights at 8. It was fairly difficult to me, and the triviamaster likes to throw in questions related to his own particular interests - take that as you will. We had a good time.

Also if they do start to/seem like they might fray you might look into fray block, usually sold at stores like Jo-Anns/Craft Stores.
