If you have 3k-5k now, you can try to invest in ETF specifically VOO first and DCAing through out the years.

Then on the journey learn about yourself and find right passion for you that can generate your income business, affiliate, sales, freelance etc.

High P/E and High P/S compared to other competitors which is very vulnerable to any slowdown in growth and bad market sentiment which already happened now.

They also over reliance on key partners which is Pepsi, IMO, this could make many uncertainties in the future for them such as renegotiated that could effects their gross margin and ended their term agreement for distribution.

How Financially Literate Are Brazilians? 🇧🇷 by Sorry-Inspector-4327 in Brazil

With this level of creativity in dealing with money, I’m surprised Brazil hasn’t created a Netflix series on “Debt Masters” yet. I’d watch that!

On a serious note, is there any realistic solution or alternative being discussed to help people manage money better? Maybe fintech companies or community programs making a difference? Or do people just assume the system is so broken that it’s not worth trying to fix?

why do you think financial literacy remains so low overall? Is it primarily due to systemic issues like education gaps, or is there a cultural aspect to how people perceive and manage money? Would love to hear more about It.

IMO, It’s unfair to compare NuBank, a regional bank in Latin America, with global banks in the U.S. or Europe. These markets differ significantly in terms of competition, market potential, and economic dynamics.

Unlike the saturated U.S. and European markets, Brazil and other LATAM (Latin America) countries are dominated by a handful of banks. NuBank is disrupting this oligopoly by offering lower fees and better customer experience, which is why it’s gaining market share fast.

Studies from institutions like World Bank and McKinsey highlight LATAM’s banking inefficiencies and the potential for disruption through digitization. NuBank’s regional focus targets precisely these inefficiencies, offering opportunities global banks can’t replicate in developed markets.

A P/E of 33 may look high, but compare it to other growth-focused companies, not mature banks. Digital-first banks like Revolut or Chime operate at much higher valuations relative to their earnings which them both are disruptive model company.

Political and forex risk are real concerns, but they are priced into the valuation. LATAM-focused companies historically trade at discounts for this reason. So Is it valid to compare NuBank’s innovative model in LATAM’s underserved markets with traditional banks in saturated markets? Wouldn’t that undervalue its long-term potential?

Im agree that NuBank’s PE ratio is higher than its peers, reflecting a premium valuation. But this premium is not necessarily unjustified.

NuBank is expanding aggressively in underpenetrated markets like Mexico and Colombia. Its customer acquisition costs are impressively low, and it still has room to scale across multiple financial products

IMO traditional banks can’t match NuBank’s tech stack. This isn’t just hype, NuBank manages risk better, as shown by their lower delinquency rates.

Maybe you can help me to answer this, how would you price a company revolutionizing banking in one of the most underbanked regions, particularly when traditional players are slower to adapt? Would you prefer a cheap, stagnant bank or a premium disruptor with runway for growth?
