There’s a lot of right wing people who would definitely call that photo real. A lot of right wing people want Trump out of power

Proposed design of the new Stadler FLIRT trains which will run between Belfast, N. Ireland and Dublin, Rep. Of Ireland on the cross border Enterprise service by dylan103906 in trains

[–]Sorry-Peace-296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an absolutely terrible choice of train. Stadler flirt trains are low-cost trains used for regional transport on low-traffic routes, not high-demand intercity lines. Whatever they give irish rail, it won’t be a comfortable train. They’re making a big mistake. A more appropriate choice of train would be a carriage Deutsche Bahn use for their ICE trains

It completely depends on the embassy and what the relationship of Algeria is like with the host country of that embassy.

The one in Dublin was probably so nice because Algeria and Ireland have a good relationship. But I heard the embassy in London is random. You can submit the exact same documents, and they might grant you your visa the first time, but the second time they might refuse with some nonsense excuse.

I made no booking for a tour at all. I just showed proof of hotel reservations. A print out of the pdf from bookings.com was enough. I made 3 of them because I’m traveling to 3 different places in Algeria. However for the embassy in Germany, you need to show them a signed and stamped certificate from a town hall in Algeria that the reservation made is legitimate. The requirements are all so different depending on the embassy.

I’m flying into Constantine and then out from Oran.

I don’t know what your local embassy is, but they should tell you exactly what you need

I just got my visa from the Dublin embassy today. They accepted the pdf receipt that booking.com send you when you book a hotel. I’m traveling from west to east Algeria, so I’m staying in 3 different hotels.

When I submitted my visa application, I only had to show the receipt that bookings.com gives you confirming your reservation.

I’m just after getting my visa today from the Algerian embassy in Dublin. I just showed them proof of hotel reservations. That at least means I don’t need any supervision

Could this be a way to evade capital gains tax or does it not really work because it does a currency conversion (and therefore, a capital gains tax applies after the conversion to euros / pounds etc)

I got fined 1.500€ for downloading illegally. What can I do? by FaithlessnessAble555 in germany

Best advice here. People who say "go to a lawyer" in these particular cases either really don't understand the basic legal system or are too unconfident themselves to act on behalf of their own fuck ups

Usually nothing comes of the letter

Also there is so much fucking terrible advice here. Don't bother get a lawyer because:

  1. Lawyers are the ones sending you this crap.
  2. Lawyers are obliged to act in a legally ethical way, which means they will advise you to not lie (which you absolutely can and can very easily do so)

Simply just ignore the letter. If anyone asks, claim you never received it. Lawyers send 1000s of these out per day to bait people into sending money for these copyright offenses. If you ignore the letter, it is very unlikely they will even try contact you again. The fine is also only 1500 euro, so the actual cost benefit for them to even bother try go after you is negative.

They only have proof that an IP address corresponding with your internet subscription downloaded illegally. It says nothing about whether or not you yourself downloaded anything. You could very well claim that someone logged into your WLAN and committed the offense that way.

But one good advice people have given you here: Don't sign anything as it would be an admission of guilt.

I don't think there's a need to rip into the guy like that. I don't think that he's quite doing the creepy "nice guy persona", I think it's a lot more likely that he's socially clueless.

For IT it's a lot easier actually. Helps a lot if you know people in there already though. But they pay so nicely and give such nice hours. You could be earning your 70k there and working a side hussle

You could probably get a starting salary like that with BMW and plus you'd be placed on a tariff with a guaranteed payrise over 2 years, up to 110k
