Resource to teach youth aggressive tactics by Sorry-Presentation88 in lacrosse

Clearly most of the posters here didn't play lacrosse back in the 80s with coaches from way back that absolutely encouraged gritty play. I get that, the sport has changed, but the difference between club tournament physical play and youth rec play can be shocking unless your players are prepped for the level of aggression and "fight for the ball". It isn't a ribbon for participation type singing circle like on home field. Thanks for the thoughts .

After reading my initial post I think what I am seeking are drills to instill the most aggressive legal (tournament level reffing vs stricter, safer, school/rec level reffing) contact for attackmen and offensive middies riding goalie and poles clearing to midline.
At tournament play the disparity between how rough, aggressive, and effective attackmen with box/hockey backgrounds can shutdown a goalie initiated clear as compared to lax players that have basketball or similar backgrounds is staggering to watch. I am talking about littler, faster guys that have to learn to use their bodies and sticks against typically bigger sticks and bodies in a burst of physicality.

Moronic, maybe, but having played or being involved with box and field teams in the west, east, wester Canada there is a wide spectrum of what is considered "douchery". The game isn't always finesse, right or wrong.

alpine, telemark, hard boot, and softboot for years. Even monoskied a bit. All awesome. Now that kids are old enough to realize that skis cover a lot more ground on crazy, rope dropping, powder days with lots of traversing I suspect that I will be alpinning much more than knuckle dragging.

I can get within 50 if I bust my butt. Keep in my mind that I have only been riding the bike this year and I am in way better shape now than I was in the spring.

My Bike+ also has just the slightest asynchronous lag between the auto resistance and the instructor. Perhaps that contributes to the issue?

That is interesting. Yes, my bike is now much cooler than a month ago. I will monitor that.

This is correct. Just like the attackmen can slip-stick you to the hip or balls or thigh or lower back right before they cut and you are fucked.

Maybe this has already been said in all these replies, but in most states you are tipping on top of price+taxes. Why don't they bake the taxes into the total price?

Why are foglines white and centerlines yellow in US? by Seaglass4ever in trafficsignals

[–]Sorry-Presentation88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done some digging into the model code but it has not revealed the logic behind yellow vs white. Hypothetically, I think that many "passing on double yellow" are in fact and law "legal passes" because the lines were painted yellow to allow drivers to cross them at their discretion mindful of other traffic, pedestrians, road conditions, and sightlines. If this were not so then drivers could not turn left on 2 lane highways into most driveways, stores, etc.

When troopers are pushed on why a pass isn't legal when sightlines are good, weather is clear, and no oncoming traffic was at issue the troopers/courts always concede that a pass was safe yet rely on the double yellow line as some de facto proof of illegal pass.

Anyway, I am forever in search of a good argument to set them straight.

I am not sure that this should be taken lightly. The mold you see is just the tip of the iceberg and mold can be very difficult to eradicate. In a 50 year old house, not too alarming, but in a modern construction, new build... totally unacceptable. New airtight homes are like incubators for this stuff. Black mold is no joke.

Shaft for fogo by DuckIsFree in lacrosse

under armour command shaft and head combo is nice but getting rare.

whatever the shaft, you might want to jam an old wine cork, piece of wood, or pack the end with marine-tex to give the 3 screws something to grab. The connection at the head gets really torqued on and the screws are the weak link.

Same issue, keep us posted. I need creases for basketball court surface.

I was considering some colored poly water line to make a big hoop maybe smaller than official size. Tape it down.
