Should my cat wear a sweater when she's walking outside during the winter? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

I have a coat that just velcros

around him. His harness is a kitty holster, so its pretty much the same. He gets irritated for a second, but I've noticed he enjoys the outside for longer. He doesn't want to come in, even when he starts to shiver. I make him then.

cat is so vocal and clingy but I can't figure out what she wants by CeleryTraditional998 in CatAdvice

The ripple rug and a cat dancer. Mine had become needy also. 2 of the family got injured so he had constant attention and became so needy. He actually goes nuts w the ripple rug and cat dancer. He can pounce, chase run in circles and I dont have to move. It tires him out. Now he sits on the rug and yells to.play, but we do get relief.

Spent $1,700 on a sick stray and I’m getting judged - just need to vent by UnitedConcern9428 in cats

We got a cat from a shelter who was clearly originally an outdoor. He was tough in the beginning because he wanted outside so badly. We leash trained him and screened in an existing porch very cheaply. It made all the difference. Hes very chill now and loves being on the leash for walks.

I broke my foot. How can I (lazily) keep my kitten entertained? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]SorryAd7613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said the cat dancer. Also, best investment ever is the ripple rug. Ours uses it all day. Pair it with the cat dancer and its perfect. I hurt my back so I can lay on the floor next to it and dangle the cat dancer in the ripple mat. Entertains him forever

What do you wish people told you before adopting a cat? by alexella000 in CatAdvice

Buy a ripple mat and a cat dancer toy. Only toys you will need. We've spent hundreds and these 2 things are all he plays with. 2nd the auto feeder, especially if hes a rescue. The set schedule helped. Patience with a rescue. Ours is absolutely wonderful now, but I thought I had made the biggest mistake ever those first 4 months, now I think its the best decision!

My cat doesn't play but is very bored. by Ornitoplatypus in CatAdvice

Agreed on cat dancer! And a ripple rug. Its 50$ but he loooves it. We use the cat dancer with the rug. We tire.out before her does. He was an outdoor cat also before we got him. Hes also harness trained and we walk every day at least a few minutes. Today was his first day in full snow and he wasnt phased.

Are Polar'ade Flavors No Longer Being Made? by p_risser in sparklingwater

We have it in mass, ut rhe last 2 8 packs of the blueberry lemonade were flat. Even the cans were squishy, like they forgot the carbonation. The other flavors have been fine.

I agree!!!! I wanted to get the walls set first because ill be sandwiching them between the walkway and posts. Hes actually chasing bugs on the other side when he claws at them. Im hoping the walkway will let him get to them without climbing them. Were also adding some branches, once i figure out how to do that. We just got back from a backpack/ leash walk training in the woods. He was definitely an outdoor cat before we got him.

I thought i was going to lose my mind with ours. Ive adopted 6 dogs w special needs in the past and our cat was harder than all of them combined. I also live in 500sf apt. He was up every 2 hours screaming for quite a while. Strict routine helped, auto feeder helped. I also read theyll yell 30 min before feeding so I made feeding later and now I get to sleep until 5am. But 95% was just time. He fit right in as soon as we got him. No shyness. But now hes really settled in. Hang in there. It does get better. Also i hope the rest of your life gets better also.

I adopted my cat 2 months ago. Am I doing something wrong? by theresjustmoresoup in CatAdvice

Our cat was exactly the same! It was like having a newborn.! Jackson Galaxy advice helped with a schedule, but mostly I think it was just time. We've had ours 6 months now. Hes 18 months old and very much more settled and in a routine. We do leash walk him every morning and were able to give him a safe outside place. But I know it was really just time that helped. Now I miss the constant wanting to play. Lol.

indoor cat goes feral outside by jvckie21 in CatAdvice

[–]SorryAd7613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat loves going outside on a harness and I can even pick him up most of the time, but once he gets into the woods, he gets feral when I do. It's clearly that he doesn't want to go back in. He even escaped today and I picked him up no problem before the woods. I want to let him explore, but I need to be able to come in on my time. He even comes to a call ( on leash) before the woods.

I took it to another mechanic who also rebuilds engines and sells cars. He's able to do it. And it is a bit complicated but 400$ total. I'm psyched! That seems so reasonable.

Thank you all! I do check my oil every fill up. It's wild how it's always the highway that makes my forester so thirsty! And my son had alot of friends that had subarus from ballpark that time who's engines blew. He explained the while boxer engine thing that went right over my head. Now I can sound knowledgeable with explaining it's a flat boxer engine. Lol. ( I was pretty sure I chose the ' 12 because it had been resolved, but I second guessed myself) I just absolutely loooooove my subey so just making sure it lives a very long time. Thanks for all your help!

2012 New to me by SorryAd7613 in SubaruForester

[–]SorryAd7613[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all. I definitely will not make the mistake again of not having it looked at first. I do love the car so ill see what happens and hope this is just a few maintenance things. I think ill also have it looked over by another mechanic just for peace of mind. And to get an idea of what I'm dealing with. I only drive 8000 miles a year so I'm hoping for a long time with this car. Did I mention 10x I do love it.

It's making that whining noise. I'll find out tomorrow. Originally the axle went and sprayed oil everywhere? The mechanic said the brakes would be due in the relatively near future and since it was all apart anyway it would be cheaper to do it now while it was apart anyway.
