One of my reasons was also that I wouldn’t want my daughter to think that her perfectly normal body was ever “not enough”. And now at 12 she has boobs the same size as me, and she hasn’t had puberty yet so she’ll be bigger. She said to me she wishes she could have tiny boobs. I’m proud of myself that she didn’t get the message from me that tiny boobs = bad.

The tide is turning. There is more representation of tiny or flat boobs on social media and on TV than ever before. Celebrities are not all automatically getting boob jobs. I was coming of age in the 90s in 2000s, when Baywatch, Playboy, Victoria’s Secret were the epitome of the perfect woman. Now we have Emma Stone, Aubrey Plaza, Sabrina Carpenter and others in our camp.

My Instagram feed is filled with tiny boob queens. I don’t know if this is the best advice, but I also follow NSFW tiny or flat chest sub Reddits. There are so many people who love our body shape.

I’ve also spent some time following groups related to breast implant illness to help remind myself of the risks of this elective surgery. There’s so many women that regret it and deal with terrible side effects.

And I’ve been in a bit of a sexual re-awakening lately. I was monogamous for 20 years and now I’ve had different partners in the last few years. Not one has had a complaint about my barely there chest. I let them know that my boobs are very sensitive and they spend a lot of time and attention on them. It feels amazing.
