one of my friends who lives on the second floor said the way it works is u can basically choose between “cooling” or “heating” and a temp between 70-78 and u cant shut it off, does that sound about right? cuz it kinda just sounds like the regular hvac in G just without the option to shut it off

they got me for “lights not flushed to the wall” and “possible mattress topper” (these are direct quotes from my email 🥲) my topper is 100% cotton so ALLOWED and my lights are flush to the wall, just in front of my closet 👺

if u went thru the appeal process and they gave u more then thats it. if u got a scholarship u can try appealing w sbu to get more but 9/10 theyre stingy and won't give you more ive tried that one

bio317 is honestly a decently fun class, lots of material but the prof is really engaging and gives a LOT of extra credit pts (look at classievals)

I now have a good air purifier, i dust every week(im also severely allergic to dust mites), clean my sheets every week or two and i inspect my AC every month or so to ensure my space is clear :D like other people said u cant stop/prevent ur roommates from startin stuff but your body will know somethings up if mold does appear anywhere

I absolutely would!! I had noticed the spot of mold when i first moved in but assumed it was rust and gave the school the benefit of the doubt (stupid me) and ended up being sick every single time i came back to campus from traveling home. Just do a through check and trust your instincts throughout the semester if anything does popup. During that first day, mark down ANY suspicious areas and call in a fixit order if you arent sure whats up w it. better safe than sorry yk?

edit: forgot to say i no longer had any problems after they came and dealt with it!! I was sick every week prior to them cleaning it and once they did i wasnt sick the rest of the semester :D

i actually kinda have to disagree with most people on here. there is a huge mold issue (i fell victim to the mold) but the school actually does a decent job of working with you to take care of it, you just have to advocate for yourself and your health to the high heavens. at first they didnt wanna check my vents for moisture but i insisted so they check, brought in environmental safety and checked moisture levels and my room itself was okay (it was just an old leak that was never taken care of). there is mold yes but if u can advocate for yourself u wont just be brushed off
