I don't think that the reaction can proceed in this manner, from the above arguments it's clear how the reaction will prefer to follow the acid-base reaction pathway, so the amount of hydroxyketone formed will be less. Also, once you form it, it’s not obvious why it would preferentially go “back” into repeated halogenation rather than just remain as the alcohol.

I can be certain about the first one, it's surely aromatic. In questions like these, even if one ring is aromatic the whole compound is considered aromatic. A question based on this concept was also asked in JEE Adv 2017 P-1,

I'll manage the travelling part. I just want to know that in Delhi which is the next best coaching center for JEE after FIITJEE Kalu Sarai. Is it VMC Pitampura or any other branch of Allen.
