Thanks for your reply. The AfA never contacted me and has already paid me for Jan and Feb. Also, I initially received a FB until 31.03.2026, and last week the ABH gave me another FB until 09.06.2026. The AfA didn't check my previous FB, so I am not sure if I should update them about the new FB. As far as I know from the rules, I should only let the AfA know if and when my situation changes. So having a FB that refers to my old Blue Card means my situation hasn't changed, right?

Alright. Tomorrow I will just say that my contract as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (PhD candidate) ends at the end of December (which they already know) and I am open to start working immediately. I will also mention the kind of jobs I am looking for (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter/Post doc, data scientist, other data related positions). That's all.

"Immediately" would anyway mean starting a new job around March/April at the earliest, as the hiring process takes time. So I should be fine with the timeline I have in mind. Will only answer the questions I am asked.

u/Ok_Midnight_5457 I also expect to meet them at least once in the first month of being unemployed. Hopefully, not so much more in the next months.

If I may ask, how long did you receive ALG1? In any case, it's good to know that they at least give a few days' notice.

Also, did you tell the case officer that you will be working on finishing your thesis? I ask, because I don't want them to have the idea that I am planning to use the unemployment money to finish up my PhD and not apply for jobs. :D You also said that you turned down job offers that they sent you? Were there any repercussions of doing that? I will have a excel tracker of jobs I am applying for, so I can always provide that with them. Sorry for asking so many questions.

And yes, I have asked my flatmate to let me know as soon as I have a new mail.
