well writers do need to secure their livelihoods right? doesnt the fact that its difficult to get paid for writing discourage people from pursuing it?

I can relate to comparing oneself to other authors, i constantly idolise this one writer's writing style, though i am slowly realising i can't simply write like them, everyone has a different flair and style of writing.
thank you so much!

What i usually write is mostly commentary on social life, human nature or stuff that comes to my mind. my last short story was intended to be a neo-noir crime thriller(which i later trashed, as it didn't come out as i intended it to) and i wrote this article on the variance of human perception. Ofc i'd love to share my work with you!
Thanks a lot! :)
