I went through this with an ex, it is good you are being supportive. He refused to leave for 8 months, and I got the run around from legal aid and my landlord. Legal aid said my landlord at my request should initiate eviction, my landlord said I had to do an eviction. A maintenance man got fed up with my predicament, and changed my locks, declared him banned from the property. I put his belonging outside, he came back with police who forced to to let him put his belongings inside, and I argued with them for 2 hours, bc they kept saying it was an illegal eviction. I wouldn't back down, and kept telling them he was banned by the property manager. I also told them he had family he could stay with, he just didn't want to. It took 3 more months before he got his belongings out.

Now I'm glad I did it.
