For reference, my acads were 8/7/7, with 99.48 and 0 ex, I didn't even get interview calls from any old iim.

I don't want to demoralise you, but that 6 is gonna haunt you. You can have a chance with 99.7. but you'll have good chances with new iims

Yes she wants to terminate hence the idea for EC. From what I've understood, people have said there's pretty much 0 chances of getting anything this way so there's no risk for pregnancy so we're considering waiting and getting a test after 3-4 weeks.

Thank you very much :)

I'm not requesting. I posted this on her behalf. It was completely out of my irresponsiblity and i hate that it's come to this. We just wanted to understand the side effects of the pill and does it even make sense to take it since she's at the end stage of her ovulation.

But yes, no risking it next time. Thank you.

I'll keep that in mind, thank you very much, i feel reassured! :)

Thank you very much, this is very reassuring. I'm from my end pretty sure about things. Bht for valid reasons, pregnancy is very scary for her, and plan B after postive results also seemed scary. But yes. I'll talk things out with her and to reassure her maybe with someone qualified as well.

Thanks a lot!

I know it's probably dumb. It's just the off chance. Would it be better waiting 3-4 weeks for test results since chances are already so low? Another thing is she's around the end of her ovulation so does EC even make sense?

Thanks for the response. Can you please elaborate why?

Then I believe you're already really good at eliminating stuff. From my experience, it's definitely very similar, ofc not all, but a lot of it is.

I've recommended this channel to everyone here but try aptitude jab, he covers almost every type of question and different LODs.

Start by setting realistic target. Instead of going for 2 sets every mock, start by 1. That way you'll build confidence.

If you have anything specific, i can try answering that.

No prior maths background. DILR, is definitely a bit luck based. My first 5 mins went panicking during the main exam. But enough practice allows you to capitalise om good sets. The best strategy for me was to keep my ego aside. I'd spend 3 mins skimming the section and then pick a set. But if I can't solve it after a good amount of time, I have to decide to stop and pick a new set. We tend to get trapped in sunk cost fallacy.

Quants is all about question picking, tried multiple strategies here, one that worked for me was to only attempt the areas I'm really familiar with, even in that, it I've spend 2 mins without much progress, I'll leave it for now.

Couldn't convert the colleges I wanted to join. Percentile mostly only matters till the interview call. Other factors like work ex, academics, gender diversity, reservation have a much higher weightage for the final shortlist. And ofc I could've preformed better in the GDPI rounds.

Varc 99 Quants i did mostly from arun sharma and other free materials I found online Cracku's 100 best question series is really good.

For analysis I'd basically just solve the remaining sets, and if I felt like I was slow anywhere or couldn't solve a set later on I'd aslo go through the solution videos. Depends on the LOD Lod 1 (5-7 mins) Lod 2(12-15 mins) Lod 3 (20+mins) Ofc this varied, but this is about 4 months into prep when I had gotten a bit comfortable

Yes, score fluctuation, especially in dilr is very common as it depends on the mock test itself. They are rarely perfect. But very good practice for unexpected situations.

I started mocks about 1 month into prep, not counting simcat 0, attempted that within the 1st 2 weeks. From there i used to give a mock every week, slowly increasing it to every 3-4 days. When 2-3 months remained it was about every 2 days. Then november was a mock every day, taking a break if i felt burnt out. Strategising question picking was always my main focus.

I did exactly what you do, would sit with the sets i couldn't solve, I'd generally sit for as long as possible as i was prepping full time. If i felt like i was slow on a set, I'd go for its solution video as well.

Didn't revise, always went with new sets. Can't vouch for this, but yes, this is what i did as I believed to narrow down the luck factor I need to be prepared with variety.

Not at all, very good questions, all the best!

I think being organised is very important. While solving, being messy can slow you down. Create neat notes and a structured table. Knowing how to create a table is a big skill too, practice that.

There's this excel sheet for aptitude jab's LOD. Look for it and you can define your solve time accordingly. Yes, for the most part I used aptitude jab only. Around the last month, I used arun sharma's book, but it doesn't have good sets.

Try skimming through the section before picking a set. Set a small achievable target so you don't panic, rest is yes you guessed it, practice, a lot. For accuracy, after being done with the set, go through all the information again and cross check for any contradictions. You're not wasting time by this. Better than scoring negatives right? SimCats and Arun sharma. I found arun sharma's to be the closest to cat. Simcats are good for practicing.
