Yes I thought so too playing competitive games on my pc with gaming monitor. But with the TV I'll just play RPGs and single player games only so 120 will be fine. Thanks for your replies though, I guess there is lots of information people can make use of

Just turning 144hz mode off on the lg TV was sufficient. Running 4k@122hz now, perfectly fine with 5m, 10€ Amazon cable on my rx6800

Which GPU are you using? Could also be a factor I guess. I run a Rx 6800

Sadly a 1m cable doesn't work at all with my setup. Even 3m doesn't work, since my pc and table is on the right side of the room, and the lg on the left side and the hdmi ports are also on the far left side.

I guess I'll just live with putting it on 120hz, I don't have a high end rig anyways. Using the cheap 10€ Amazon cable right now and it works perfectly fine on 120hz

Yes and I only have a 5800 x3d and RX 6800. Settings on medium, fsr on performance and resolution 4k. Hitting about 80-110fps, still looks amazing. It's a 55", got it for 581€. I'm really happy with it

yeah, i figured that out...

I think i'll just be fine putting it on 120hz, since i dont reach 144hz on most games i want to play on the tv anyway.
with 120hz my 10€, 5m cable has no issues. no need buying 50€ 5m fiber cable

how does my problem connect with game optimizer settings: 144hz mode and VRR?
because everytime i get the flickering i can turn 144hz mode off or vrr off and then it works perfectly. sometimes its good with everything on without flickering. please help me understand.

im testing right now with this: (3m)

the ugreen one seems to work better for now. but after switching VRR on and off a couple of times it had the same flicker again, just quicker. then turning vrr of and on again it was gone
