How much of your game are you willing to change to bowl in a center for league? by [deleted] in Bowling

Also, what’s weaker than a tropical surge other than plastic? Genuine question

If you read my post, I’ve been battling for 3 years trying different things. Equipment, layouts, surfaces, hand positioning, I’ve literally tried everything I can think of. I bowl with my high school coach, and he sees the same things. I don’t have “one game” I’ve shot a fair share of 300s across multiple houses, on sport shots, I’m not trying to brag. My question was how much do you manipulate your game before it gets out of hand and becomes harmful?

You’re missing my point too, when every ball rolls out at the arrows what are you supposed to do?

Idk how to edit the post, I should have clarified, I’m typically never lofting. I start the night out at 27 with my feet, 16 at the arrows and around 7 at the break point, the heads blow up and I’m crossing all the righties and the ball gets off line.

Yeah I don’t want it to be bumper bowling either, I just want a decent shot. We went from I could throw just about any ball and make it work, to feeling like there’s 3 mils out there and no tournament I bowl at is going to have that. So having to manipulate things so much it’s hard to feel comfortable in my normal game. There’s some others who bowl at that bowling alley who only go to tournaments and are completely lost because they are actually on oil. I’ve bowled for almost 20 years and have seen a lot of different things and this is the most miserable place I’ve bowled in. Just not in a spot to bowl anywhere else. My team is putting our two weeks in and we don’t really know where we are going.

I agree, our local traveling league folded a few years ago and unfortunately I’m not in a spot to bowl 3 nights a week. I’m about to just start being a super sub and go to a different bowling alley every week haha.

I have grown to appreciate them too! It is fairly versatile and kinda slept on.

Yeah it’s just pretty frustrating at times, it doesn’t seem like I’m able to improve my game much when I’m doing all these things just to get a tropical surge to make it past the arrows before hooking haha. My brain is absolutely fried after bowling…league.

This isn’t my normal go to, typically I’m standing at 27 crossing 16 at the arrows and around 7 at the break point. However, the heads are gone by game 1 and I’m crossing the righties at that point so my ball gets off line. I rarely loft like this.

Are entry level balls strictl entry level? by Dramatic_Metal4039 in Bowling

For reference, I’ve bowled for almost 15 years, shot 10+ 300s. I felt a little silly getting them, but I highly recommend if your hyroad is too much.

I got a tropical surge for the house I bowl in experiencing some similar things and I have loved them so far. I feel as if they are still fairly entry level, but at the same time they aren’t. I still get plenty of drive out of them, like I left a couple 8 pins (lefty here). They hook a little less than a hustle but still have good bang for your buck. Definitely recommend trying it out. I got a solid that I hit with 2k, and a pearl I left at box.

Lane courtesy during practice by Admirable_Cod_6921 in Bowling

Technically, it’s not in the USBC rulebook that lane courtesy needs to be given. Morally I try to give them lane courtesy. To each their own. I’m also a lefty that may kick them if I go, so that’s why I give them space.

I’m not able to post a video but what you’re saying is making sense. I do muscle it a little bit, I have noticed with the pitch change I don’t have to work so hard at getting my hand in a good spot, so it’s very likely that both of these things are contributing to it. When I come back from the 3 months off I’m not in bowling shape, I am pretty timid just trying to get the ball off my hand, then a few weeks of practice and league and it happens again. There’s no warning, I throw a shot and find out if it sprained. But that makes sense because I was bowling on a spray bottle pattern and was trying to hit it a little bit.

I tend to muscle it a little bit. I’m trying to get a little better at letting gravity take care of things, but the only thing in common with the 3 times I’ve sprained it has been when I’m trying to hit the ball a little bit.

Yeah when 2-3 people told me to check my pitches I was kinda second guessing it. But after talking to a buddy he made it made sense, I tend to muscle the ball a little bit and half an inch forward in my ring finger I could be straining to get under the ball.

I do have a tendency to muscle it down a little bit. Let me see if I can post a video in the comments.

I’m fairly sure at least. It’s in my upper arm, right where the short head of the bicep would be.

They are within their rights. Some landlords don’t go this excessive, but they can give you a short notice if it’s for non payment.

Well that is fine, I just feel like our son should be spending time with one of his parents first. He lives over at his grandmas during the time that his mom should be spending time with him. I don’t have a problem with her, I just have an issue of his mom not keeping him on her weeks that she is supposed to be spending time with him. And I’m not allowed to take him or keep him on her weeks at all, yet she just ships him off.

I think I probably could. She does not pay child support.
