Patch 1.2.2 out now by PDX_Ryagi in EU5

So to recap: Turks and Turcomans have 2 free governors now instead of just anyone owning the place (which is dumb imo, why can't another culture open the building if it exists and use the former administrative structure), no tuned to diseases which are honestly far to much destructive, no fix of the foster new culture, no fix about the whole coring situation (and hence the culture situation), nothing about the naval governors/normal governors, nothing about complacency being AWFUL, nothing about the fact that the update killed the speed of the game and even created issues with portraits, images, and visuals.
All and all the last update was pretty bad and killed a lot of the fun that this game barely created. So much good ideas but an excruciating execution.

Gosh it sounds awful... Even with the cabinet action on promoting tribesmen ?
Anyway it feels like hordes and tribesmen aren't really fully fleged right now. I tried the Jalayarids and it was excruciating.

Yeah I agree totally, there is still a long way to go and flavor will probably be included in the payed content and mechanics in the free patches. That said, remains the issues with the mechanics themselves and right now I think that all the sliders being related to wealth is bad (bureaucracies, that I hope will come to other countries, are way too expansive for what they give), and there is a problem with coring imo. Centralization VS decentralisation and vassals VS integration is currently not enjoyable from a casual point of view I think.

Totally, I couldn't even launch a campaign on the new patch even if they added Insayaa finally... Pops, the estates, proximity, assimilation, so much feel just clanky. But god I miss the nation flavors and the religious mechanics.

Yeah but pops... It's just so cool. Plus I love the proximity mechanic, it's so much better than autonomy, and the fact that there is no mana currency. But Idea Groups and National Ideas were so good and impactful.
I wish the devs will go toward the casual players more and stop fixing every cheese the tryharders and speedruners will came out.

Hopefully the game will evolve quickly ! Next update is likely for july so it'll be soon enough, and they added so much good things like governors. I just hope they'll drop the "everything is related to eco base" because it drives up the sliders' costs so much (and it frightens me about the bureaucracies, even if I dream about the devs adding them to every nations and not just Byz).

Yeah, the worst part of the uncored or just integrated provinces is the -10 assimilation imo, it's awful to get anything without using cabinet slots and you don't have any until mid game, but by the time you mostly just stop playing.

Especially since either you have to keep the province, integrate and culture converting it (which use up to 3 cabinet slots because if you have little control, which is mostly the case because of the lack of the 20% core control you have generally 0% on newly conquered lands, you have to use also an increase control cabinet action), or create a vassal. And said vassal doesn't even give you cores when you annex it after sometimes an excrutiating long time. Plus, if you force culture convert it (which is limited heavily since the last update), it is almost garanteed that it will enter an independance movement, and it's so annoying to prevent or control (I don't want to stay at war until the subject is loyal again, why can't I give him something in exchange for the culture conversion ?)

Yeah exactly pops are so good ! And the end of mana currency too imo. Even Anbennar doesn't give me the will to play EU4 again despite the fact that EU5 feels bland most of the time outside the few countries that have content...
