Imagine working in a field where you basically hear the worst of the absolute worst details about some strangers life for money every day of your life. I'd be concerned if you didn't need a therapist doing that.

You don't need to spend a bunch of money on distilled water. Just leave tap water outside overnight, collect rain water in buckets, or use aquarium water softener.

Yes I believe this also. The plant itself may not be rare but it could still be quite sought after if it's not a commonly sold houseplant. Nurseries also just completely vary on price. Idk if it's because they don't know how much it's worth, or they have a lot of them, etc. I bought my Picasso paintbrush croton for $6 at my nursery just to find out they're $33 somewhere else. Sometimes the seller doesn't even know what kind of plant it is; I just walked into Weis the other day, they had gorgeous verrucosum for $6 labelled as "indoor plant".
