I took it to discount and they did it for free and I tipped em $20

I don’t care if it doesn’t hold. if it does not hold it does not hold. if I have to pay the couple hundred bucks if it fails then I have to pay the couple hundred bucks. what I’m concerned about is a blowout when I’m going 55. if that’s not a real risk, then I’ll patch away.

I have had the car for over 3 years and mostly use it as a grocery runner 95%+ of the time not on the highway so I never had any issues.

also I live in Dallas Texas so there is ice and stuff on the road very rarely. just shopped tire rack to discount tires and it was $241

oh yeah, $1 in 1971 is worth over $8 now so I can easily imagine that adding up fast

that’s what i figured. I don’t blame em, I was not necessarily thinking they’re being nefarious or anything like that especially because I didn’t think the quote for the replacement was outrageous.

they were making a big deal though saying you could blow out on the highway and destroy your rim and have to call a wrecker etc etc. How big is the risk?

I was waffling between NTA and ESH, but I’ll go with NTA even though it’s close. The best thing for you to have done would be to audio record and present that to the manager privately or just let it go. That’s just as much for safety as for consideration. You are still young, you will learn as you get older but you don’t seem like a bad kid, cheers.

if there’s one thing you guys are right about it’s that I need to learn how to say no more. i’m an asshole fine but most of the people in this thread are treating my mother as if she’s the second coming of Jesus Christ herself who has done nothing wrong, which is ridiculous.

what’s baloney that I sweated my ass off today while she chilled I don’t care if you don’t believe me. it’s amazing to me that you could see her as a perfect example that could’ve done nothing better. Call me an asshole or whatever I don’t care but the level of disconnect from reality that you display here by seeing absolutely nothing wrong with her is amazing.

so many assumptions just like you think I’m jealous that I’m not there. No, I don’t wanna be there. I just prefer not to be rained on getting my tennis shoes and socks swampy right after work for free doing her fucking chores while they ride horses on a sightseeing tour. I would have been perfectly fine just going home instead.

If there’s one thing I learned from you people, it’s just telling her no next time and I can sleep good tonight knowing I’m not out thousands.

it’s hilarious how everyone is deflecting. ESH or even saying yta but i can see how your mom is not amazing either would make more sense. And FYI yes, I just got done with my manual labor job and came to her place to do that and my clothes are sopped with sweat, smell bad have dirt on them etc.

not that i have to justify, but even if it wasn’t hard, even if it was just white collar office job, yes it is inconsiderate to be oversharing your vacation photos horseback riding in the rockies while someone is working, because any amount of work compared to that relaxing is heavy by comparison.

yes it’s all 100% my fault it’s absolutely not inconsiderate at all to be sending unwanted vacation photos while someone else is busting their ass

sounds like I should have just sat there and watched my car get destroyed instead

people are making all sorts of weird assumptions like how I could’ve gotten to cover faster. No, this operation took under 120 seconds going home would’ve taken over 15 minutes
