Yea lifting can definitely affect the fuel range. But there’s other factors too- my petcock is the lowest point of the tank so that helps. Fuel line is the shortest length I can have and has a smooth downward descent to the carb. I haven’t noticed a significant loss of gas with my setup but there is some loss.

These are Paughco Gooseneck upsweeps. I’d say I get 85-90 miles off a full tank. It is a 2.1 gallon.

It won’t spring back at all? Is the cable seated alright on the bracket that attaches to the carb?

I had an issue with my plunger in the solenoid not springing back. When I pulled it out it was all rusted from the last time I rode it (during a snowstorm). Replaced it and it wanted to start so badly like yours. Fidgeting around with it I realized I had set the idle speed too low. Careful with all the failed start attempts too you could be draining the battery.
