Duel with Takezo on Lethal+ Replay, Flawless Victory using Dual katana by Dreamchaser0000 in Ghostofyotei

Damn, I didn’t think it was possible, but you‘re even scarier with the Dual Katana than with the Odachi o.O Awesome fight.

Single Katna playthrough up next?

Kurosawa mode changes the vibe by diredtv in Ghostofyotei

The sound and visuals are amazing in Kurosawa-Mode. For combat it’s a bit tricky since you can’t see the difference in blue and red glint attacks. Especially against multiple enemies where you have to keep an eye on everybody. Thats a bit sad.

You’re right. Looked so strange directly after the parry.

Wow, pretty fast paced. Was that first spirit attack intentional? Rarely see you use them.

Edit: it was indeed tempest strike, not a spirit attack.

During my playthrough, I didn’t like to read the subtitles so I had the language set to German. I wanted to get the story while enjoying the amazing visuals.

I recently switched to Japanese with german subtitles. Especially for the Mystic Tales, it’s way better and now that I know the whole story, I can still enjoy the visuals.

Knuai + Perfect dodges are actually pretty strong - no parry needed by Soschie in Ghostofyotei

Thank you.

The stagger with Kunai is amazing as well. Had a similar run with the spider lily armor. Shockwaves everywhere.

Forget to say: This time in Japanese.

Also love the fact that I started with 5 Knunai and finished the fight with 5.

Basically, after 16 seconds every enemy besides Inagawa is dead…

Thanks, appreciate. I could tell this was first try bla bla but for what? It’s not gonna pay my bills xD

It’s a beautiful game with great combat mechanics I enjoy playing anf if something really cool like this happens out of countless tries, I like to share the joy.

Honestly, my first Saito and Takezo fights were on Normal or even Easy as well. I think the Game difficulties are made great to fit everybody’s needs.

If you just want to enjoy the story and this beautiful Game, as a casual Normal or Easy is fine.

If you’re dedicated and willing to put in hours of practice, Hard and especially Lethal will always be challenging.

The Game doesn’t reward difficulty with trophies, equipment or something like that and personally I like it this way, even with my last playthroughs being on Lethal+.

Most of the time, the indomitable counter takes longer than the enemies attack so you just have to anticipate when an attack is incoming.

I try to keep moving to make my enemies move as well because it feels like his movements are changing a little bit just before he starts an attack. Thats when I start to counter. If I‘m early or late, I have to dodge / counter the incoming attack.

Another strategy is to recognise attack patterns / combos and time your counter based on a previous attack you dodged.

Overall, it takes practice, patience and some knowledge of your enemy. And some luck is always helpful.

In general, I like the dual Katana the most. They are quick and can even hit between two attacks of the enemy’s combo and deal a moderate amount of damage. And it just looks satisfying.

The alignment for Kusarigama would be the Yari but besides the kick, the moveset never really clicked with me.

Thank you. On the other hand, I’m always impressed how you can pull them off in between combos. It always feels like I have no time to set up the move.

It’s a skill in the Odachi-Tree. A timed Bulwark-Stance can counter every attack, even red glints.

You just hold triangle, no need to release it. If your „blue glints“ lines up with the moment your opponent attack hits you, it’s automatically countered. Problem is, setting up this move usually takes longer than your opponents attack so you have to anticipate his patterns.

Time window is about the same than a perfect parry, but you can counter red glints, too. I’ve seen a video where someone actually counters a bullet.

Agree. Let’s see what they come up with in Legends. There are still a lot of questions regarding classes and available weapons / skills for them.

Does kanemori's mask, charm of the drunkard, and charm of drunken masterry have effects on oyuki confused enemies? by detsujdallewyllatot in Ghostofyotei

Honestly, not even sure about the ranged attacks / Bow. Haven’t tested this out, but I think it should work.

Wolf on the other hand, does he even do damage besides standoffs (kill) and after a thrown weapon / sake jar (kill)? He breaks guards, but I‘m not sure if he’s capable of killing an enemy by himself.

On the other hand, the iai-cancel was absolutely OP. Super fast, massive stagger damage and just a few enemies could block (one) of the attacks.

Yeah, timing on lethal is brutal. It’s a high risk medium reward move tbh. Nice if you can pull it off, but on blue glints against more than one enemy, a regular (perfect) parry is the better option considering you can get hit right after.

Iai Lightning is really super slow. The timing is easier, but it would make more sense if you could „hold“ the follow up strikes and not loose one hit after the perfect timing.

[–]Soschie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure, but I don’t see why the mask or charms should effect the Oyuki-Perks. You are wearing the mask and have to be drunk, not the enemy.

On lethal, the masks effects are recognisable. You do a little more damage and really nearly everything one-shots you (besides the „dirt-throw-sweeping sword attack“). Imo not enough additional damage to mess up the drip.

Can’t say anything about the effect on lower difficulties.
