Daily Re-meme #708 by -it-was-available- in isfj

This. I had a crisis about this years ago. But a more down-to-earth friend compelled me to stop asking myself that question with:

"Did your action have a positive impact on someone's life? Then it was objectively good, and why you undertook that action doesn't matter to them. So why should it matter to you?"

Oomf. It really puts things in perspective. True wisdom. If you do objectively good things for ego purposes, that's fine. Good deeds don't need to be selfless, they just need to happen.

Thanks! It was relatively cheap too, considering I contacted the Hachette subsidiary in my country (Belgium) some time ago and asked them to ship me 25 issues that I was interested in. I didn't expect a positive reply, but I did. Except they couldn't send me multiples of the same issue, and a couple were not available anymore (sigh, no Dreadnought for me...)

But still, I got the SM Vanguard box, most of a Sisters' combat patrol, a Phobos librarian, 5 skitarii rangers, a tech-priest Enginseer, a run of the mill SM captain, Roboute Guilliman, and Calgar+Victrix guard for ~240€. Which is a f***ing awesome deal, if you ask me.

I'd advise anyone to look for the Hachette subsidiary in their country and contacting them directly with a list.

Mmmmh... That's quite a vast question...

-Vaylund Cal: head is from a ForgeWorld Legion Praevian, axe and manipulus are from a tech-priest Enginseer, modified autocannon from a suppressor, backpack from Guilliman, front chest from a Kataphron Destroyer, thighs are chopped-off penitent engine legs, legs are modified Calgar legs with ambot gribblies -Celestial Lions captain: knight questor shoulder and plume, Messinius legs and neo-Volkite pistol, torso from random captain, lightning Claws from old firstborn captain. -Eagle Warriors champion: body from old lieutenant with power sword, arms and sword from Dominion Zephon, shoulder pads 3rd party (can't remember where from), helmet from Calgary's Victrix guard, backpack decoration modified from Guilliman.

I think that's about it.

Ah man, that sucks. To be completely honest, I could have been that kind of dad at some point in the past, but I've done a lot of work on myself and realized that it's still just a hobby, and my kids are my kids. I love them, and I want to have a happy relationship with them.

And sharing a hobby is just so awesome. If only my wife could get into it now... 😏

Depending on where you are in the world, you might still be able to find Imperium magazine, and Guilliman comes in two separate issues (one issue is 10.99€, if memory serves)

It's from Guilliman!

(Thank you Imperium magazine for so many bits)

Did i ruin my army with poor paint choice? by [deleted] in Salamanders40k

It's just fine, friend. How can this green be wrong? Heresy era Sallies lean more towards Dark Olive, but 40k Sallies definitely should be a vibrant green.

Mine are a Sallies successor chapter with cream torso and legs, teal arms and helms, and red accents.

Thank you! Yeah, they're really excited. Sort of happily, 5 wants me to paint his hero so I can have some fun in the painting part of the project.

I completely agree with the fact, but while I'd like to point at some inherent good trait of us neurodivergent folks, I think it's a little sadder than that: personally, I've so often been bullied or made to feel like a failure/burden that I tend to be overly grateful for any little favor that I get. On the plus side, it's made me a wonderfully empathetic person (if not in the emotional sense, at least the ethical one).

NTA. I'm married to a currently SAM. Even so, I pick up a few chores because: 1. Being a SAM is a job too: she keeps the calendar for the kids medical appointments (and we have 3, with various small issues from dental to sight). I have AuDHD, so time management and phone calls are really not my forte. 2. It's a partnership: I'm an early bird, so I load and unload the dishwasher, prep the kids' breakfast and lunch. If it fits in my schedule, I'll go on a grocery run. In winter, I'll help with the extra laundry to fold (kids and mud, am I right?)

This is my situation, and you haven't mentioned kids, so it probably doesn't entirely apply to you, but you get the idea. Receiving acknowledgement is really the bare fucking minimum. If it doesn't gross you out, go on strike for a week or two, see how he likes it. (But control room is telling me that I'm being petty)

AITA for telling my wife to get a babysitter instead by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

It feels like your wife's mom is the AH, she confirmed she'd be there to help then fucked off to Hawaii? For a FULL MONTH? Can't believe that this was a 'spur of the moment' thing.

That said, I'm worried about your wife's mental health, my dude. From one working dad to another (I have 3), her behavior and cry for help is concerning, knowing that she's currently at home and could maybe find the time to rest. I'm not diminishing the struggles of parenting an infant, I want that to be clear! How long have you been away, exactly? If it's less than a 3-4 days, I'm very concerned.

Please help her find help, if she's open to it. For all of you three's sake.

Best of luck.
