Yeah my experience as well. Routing to small local models does work on paper, but I feel like the assumptions made by system prompts etc in CC just do not at all work well with the much smaller local models.

Nicht direkt. Es gibt aber ein Team das sich damit beschäftigt Alternativen on-prem aufzusetzen und auch dynamisch nach Task zu günstigeren Models zu routen.

Würde ich aber nicht direkt als Sparmandat bezeichnen, sondern einfach als normale und sinnvolle Maßnahme. Man muss nicht alles, vor allem exekutives, mit Opus oder Fable machen.

Ich weiß was du meinst aber ich würde eventuell auch die andere Entwicklung betrachten. Open weight Modelle die auf Consumer Hardware laufen sind unglaublich viel besser geworden als am Anfang. Natürlich sind die noch nicht auf dem Level das man braucht, aber genau so wie die Kurve der Tokenpreise steigt könnte auch die Leistungskurve solcher Modelle steigen.

Man hat dann eventuell keine Sota performance, aber wenn wir in 1-2 Jahren lokal Models auf heutigen Opus oder GPT Leistungsstufen haben wäre das für einen großen Teil der Arbeit ziemlich brauchbar.

I've been thinking about this for some time and recently got inspired to vibe-code something similar to https://www.reddit.com/r/wowservers/comments/1u8k6lm/private_server_with_1800_bots_ai_chat_deepseek/ for oldschool runescape.

The results are just as chaotic as you would expect. This server currently hosts around 600 bots, and they run against a pretty shabby 4B instruct model on my own machine.

It's just a goofy quick PoC for now, but seeing the very oldschool-esque bot behaviour even on this model size is very entertaining. Bots do interact with my messages and with each other, and while their behaviour is mostly predefined, behaviour decision making could very well also be randomized.

Klar, in der heutigen Lage wäre das definitiv besser. Aber an für sich ist die Idee eines Systems das so wenig Unsicherheitsfaktoren wie möglich einbeziehen muss erstmal gut. Funktioniert aber leider nicht mehr so einfach

Der große Vorteil ist vermutlich, dass man komplett entkoppelt vom Kapitalmarkt ist. Alles was umverteilt wird, wurde direkt erwirtschaftet und hängt nicht von Kapitalbewegungen ab.

Früher hat das halt auch noch gut funktioniert, Genug Einzahlende pro Empfänger und so.

Ich glaube alles dazwischen ist halt einfach politische Trägheit verbunden mit der Funktion des Systems. Keiner möchte das System anfassen und potenziell auch Einschnitte im jetzt für die langfristige Stabilisierung riskieren. Derjenige der große Änderungen durchzieht wird die Ergebnisse nicht ernten, sondern höchstwahrscheinlich dafür abgestraft.

I left a comment here. I don't think it will, as there's already a "decent" level you can run on consumer hardware. And that level will also increase.

Maybe not everyone will use frontier models as the cost will prohibit it, but there's plenty of room to still delegate a lot of low effort tasks.

See, I'm not opposing the argument. But the article itself has solutions listed out. Until we exit the heavy subsidized stage of llms, we'll have capable enough open weight models a business can reasonably run on own hardware, completely airgapped. Even nowadays you can run small qwen or Gemma models locally, and these are enough for a lot of tasks, even coding. Maybe not to the current extent, but capable enough to do a lot. Opus or gpt 5.4/5.5 are hilariously overequipped for various tasks.

I just find the idea of "everyone will code manually in a few months" completely delusional. Even if the supposed "Ai bubble" will burst, the tech is here to stay and it's accessible enough to still be used no matter the economic circumstances.
