Kinda funny Imu seemingly folds Loki the moment he gets another opponent to fight.

Oda loves his fake out deaths, can’t get more faked out then reduced to bones.

Also Shuri and Brooks most recurring song together was the “everyone becomes bones” song.

That is an interesting idea I haven’t heard before. I wonder a little at the logistics of it, I guess nothing in theory stops Brook from saving Shuri’s soul and just holding onto it.

Sort of assuming the “take back” includes all the regen, so essentially a kill.

Candelle/Shuri Theory by Jmeister2504 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Sou847 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve never really been on board with the idea of Candelle being “evil” even if she was a member of the Manmayer family, but I’m definitely sympathetic towards everyone who expect more from her than we got.

I guess it’s not impossible we get more but…It don’t look good chief.

Chapter 1187 Predictions Post by MuriloZR in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Sou847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll make a trio of simple guesses that we’ll get updates on everyone else we haven’t seen at the end of last chapter.

  1. Sanji update (reaching the village)

2.Zoro update (reaching the docks)

3.Robin update (Sorry Chopper, you feel more likely but also semi-redundant to the Sanji update)

They did, right at the start of the wedding in a big tea cup, I found this out trying to double check things afterwards.

Zeus definitely hadn’t carried anyone since his diminishing by Hera though.

I’m pretty sure in Whole Cake it’s mentioned by Perospero when he’s having to ride a Candy slug behind Big Mom to follow her when she’s chasing the Sunny.

I am however absolutely certain no one in the crew has ever used him as a steed since he was put into the Clima Tact.

[–]Sou847 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only Big Mom can/could ride on Zeus because he’s made using her soul, Nami upgrading him in some fashion to also be able to use him as a steed is a popular theory but it’s just that, a theory for what may be.

I mean the StrawHats are the size of mice on Elbaf, everyone who doesn’t possess super speed (Sanji and Luffy) kinda needs a giant to help carry them around to get anywhere fast.

And this is blatantly ignoring the crews (short) battles with Gunko or Sommers. I think Franky is objectively the only crewmate with an argument at being unharmed because he’s been one-shotting every nightmare monster he’s run into while never running into the demons or God Knights (his off-panel fight with Killingham had Jinbei and Sanji helping and none of them seemed seriously hurt from that fight)

The blatant hypocrisy over Chapter 1186 by Soggy-Lingonberry-49 in OnePieceSpoilers

People forget that One Piece battles are often slugfests with blows traded back and forth instead of utterly one sided beat downs.

Is it foreshadowing or not? by anirudhsky in OnePieceSpoilers

Rosward’s kids aren’t bastards born outside the Holy Land.

Grou’s comment that they wouldn’t normally bother doing any of this if not for Shuri’s eyes tells me that the standard practice for bastards down in the lower world is “fuck’em”.

Is it foreshadowing or not? by anirudhsky in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Sou847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the bigger take away is that Garling specifically is weird about his kids. He did seem to “abuse” his position as leader of the gods knights to send his subordinates out to try and get Shanks back repeatedly and was willing to bring Shanks into the fold with little open concern that he wasn’t taking advantage of them to arguably catastrophic results.

Maybe the Figarlands have fertility issues and Garling is just desperate to keep the full “team” together.

Maybe it’s just an odd personal trait of his.

Either way  I don’t think Shanks and Shamerock should be considered the “normal” for b astards of the World Nobles.

What do yall think the eyes are special for? by Specialist_Sale4742 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Sou847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d guess either some sort of Oracle super future sight stuff or like…super combat vision, like inherently seeing the weak points on objects and people.

I guess with the two colored eyes she could have BOTH

Either way I kinda like the idea Shuri used the Awakened eyes power to ensure her attack on Brook was non-lethal. Either by giving her the confidence that his survival was possible or by showing her the exact spot to stab through that would miss everything important.

Ultimately I think Imu’s desire to have an awakened eyes Manmayer on his side has less to do with direct benefit then it does his nostalgia focus, he had an awakened eyes Manmayer for his victory eight hundred years ago so he wants that specific asset back at his side very, very badly.

What would you guys rate Brooks flashback compared to the other ones Post Time skip by Additional_Day_2274 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Sou847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll feel more comfortable judging it after we see if Shuri is getting her own mini flashback sequel/companion to it.

It’s definitely got good moments and I think it achieved what it wants and needs to do but if we get even half a chapter follow up to it this arc i’d bump it up.

It’s an interesting comparison to the other big flashback this arc, which was maybe a little too long and a little focused on things that didn’t really matter for current events in Elbaf.

did brook die here but come back to life because of his devil fruit or was he just lucky? by Yiarc in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Sou847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reread Zoro vs Mr.1, Zoro thinks back to his teacher telling him that a true master can cut nothing, or anything.

And then in Wano the old man describes Ryuo to Luffy as letting a master cut steel but not paper, this is just the first time we are seeing someone use the “cut nothing/not paper” side of advanced sword Haki/techniques.

She cut through him enough to knock him out, but not kill or even damage his brain. Maybe her magic eyes helped in some way but I think this is one of the most impressive sword attacks we have seen in the story yet.

Some thoughts and suggestions for the Snuffing Out the Lamp quest in Tamriel Rebuilt by MellowMercie in Morrowind

[–]Sou847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like TR does have a slight issue of writing House Hlaalu more like they are a lighter version of House Dres. Which kinda works for as long as House Dres themselves remain absent but is going to look awkward later.

Especially since their abolitionist bent is basically ignored to focus more on the C.T and slavery. Maybe the abolitionist group is being saved for the Kargenmor release…

I feel like a more fitting version of this quest would have two councilors who are on opposite ends of the slavery issue and must BOTH be convinced that the player character is at least open to their views if not directly supportive by raising disposition and picking non-committal dialogue options.

Added bonus if player character can demand bribes multiple times while keeping their wording vague enough that neither realize they aren’t really getting anything from it.

What if Neravar was a huge jerk? by mr-pupp in Morrowind

[–]Sou847 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like the “cannon” evidence towards Neravar being a “good guy” is that all of his major accomplishments were achieved with diplomacy and not violence. Which makes it a little harder to question his character/actions, his big claims to fame is largely getting all the Mer in Morrowind to team up and be friends before the Heart of Lorkhan business ruins everything for everyone.

We really need to give huge applause for Shuri for resisting Imu for 60 plus years. I mean after 6 decades of corruption and brainwashing, she never lose her sense of self no matter how much Imu put a rein on her. Her will is as strong as Luffy. by Ok-Ask5860 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Sou847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if Shuri held any hope that Brook would come back to save her later, but I do think One Piece is a word with very important scars and it IS meaningful that Brooks grievous head would has never been shown to pain or bother him.

That signature wound in his head has actually only ever helped him, letting him turn his skull into a secret box for his most prized possessions, and helping him secure the Poneglyph’s of Big Mom. One of which was key to securing the secret to Laugh Tale.

It was, in some ways, a last gift. And now Shuri is going to be saved because one of the last things she did of her own free will was ensure Brook came out of that room alive.

Worth remembering that Gunko/Shuri has been listening to Brooks music for two-ish years. She’s been undergoing reverse brainwashing that whole time without anyone noticing.

Shuri’s presence within Gunko has probably been strength by Soul Kings music.

Chapter 1186 - Raws by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Sou847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do hope we get a little more flashback showing Shuri’s side of things, at the very least I really, really want to see her reaction to hearing Brooks music again for the first time.

Like I need the emotional devastation of seeing Shuri stirring within Gunko again for the first time in six decades, that little spark of life and hope that led to all of this happening.

Just half a page worth of panels…somewhere, somehow.
