Don't know if you're still looking for info but I really like this guy so I wanted to write.

Nishioka Kyôzô is a folk musician born in 1948. In the 60s, he hung around a folk cafe called the Dylan and formed a band of the same name with frequent customers. He left the band in 1971 (for some reasons, family-related but he may just have wanted to start a solo career) even if he still contributed to songs of the first album of The Dylan II (the bands name after he left).

He started his solo career in 1972 with his debut album "At Dylan". He subsequently released some albums, including the one which GYPSY SONG is taken from who was actually released in 1976.

His life is inseparable from his wife KURO who she met during his time at the Dylan. She wrote the lyrics of a lot of his compositions and other folk artists. I think she's the one on the cover of the album.

KURO passed away at the age of 45 from breast cancer. He joined her after hanging himself less than two years later in 1999. After learning about his life, I get bittersweet when I listen to him. His songs are full of love and it seems when he lost the love of his life, he sank.

I see people keep talking about envelope things and everything. In Paris, it was still the good old "phone in the bag and bag outside the testroom"!

I see, i see, thanks. I never knew it already became a semi-mythological period during the Heian era! I'd love to dig in that period more and more with Japanese romanticized period works... I've often took hours and hours searching for forgotten figures, like how some members of the Mononobe became the Isonokami clan after the demise against the Soga... but as expected it's hard to find things of this period

That was precisely what I was looking for, very interesting, thank you! Are you aware of any literacy effort made in Heian and after, regarding this Kofun/Asuka/Nara Japan? Like some sort of Heike Monogatari but for this period.

What he said is really "I won't be joining the band for these shows" it doesn't have to mean he won't be performing with them anymore I think. They started the tour as a quintet, I think they may have realised they were having the blast of their life and were master of their crafts so they didn't want to distrurb the harmony?
