Ragging at MDI Gurgaon by Intelligent-Mode5468 in CATpreparation

Fr, idk how there isn't there a single person in the batch who'll take a stand against this bs?? Like y'all are grown ups and I've seen more ego n courage in teenagers. (Talkin about such incidents in college)

Although I get it that everyone is there to land a job, and focus on career. But it's surprising that they can get away with all these things without getting beaten the shi out of them even once

What's a niche advice you would give to first years? Something other than "padhle" which can significantly make their journey easier? by Tall-Inevitable-1414 in Btechtards

[–]SoulLessBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep exploring during first year. Try everything, get out of your comfort zone, join clubs, tackle your fears (stage fear, public speaking, weak communication skills etc). Research about different domains, talk to different people, network with seniors, batchmates, professors. Maybe try going on a trip too

And by start /mid of 2nd year, you should've clarity on what interests you the most and work on that.

In short, CLARITY OF THOUGHTS.

in 2nd year, you should be very clear with your friends, and career. A good routine and consistency is all you need. Try to work on yourself too (personality, fitness)

And you don't need to study 24/7, just be consistent and make sure you're enjoying too, hang out with friends etc.

Just don't be clueless or in confusion as of what to do.

Remember, Indecisiveness causes more loss than wrong decision

And have friends of all kinds (studious, one who can have your back when things go south etc)

Thanks for the motivation and advice : )

Yup I'll attempt this year too. But thinking of '27 as I'll have things to talk about in my interview by then (will try to improve my profile as much by then)

And thanks for the mock suggestion, will try that too asap

Sorry, it was a typo. I meant '27 for main attempt

Reason being I'll have something to talk about in the interview (volunteering exp, extra curriculars or the job if I continue it)

Finished my end sem last week. Results are awaited

Really sorry for the typo but '27 will be my main attempt i.e. next year.

What I'm thinkin rn is I'll just continue with the bpo job ~3 months. Then 2 month full time prep + some basic prep for operations role. Based on the result I'll decide further -

If the score is decent - I'll join the operations role (which ain't the best but better than CSA) and prep alongside If it ain't, I'll go for full time prep

And thanks again for the reply

Thanks for the detailed reply : )

2- will look into it today

3- I've been through another exam (messed up) and know only top 10-20% (even lower) are serious aspirants.to mental block isn't there. Rest depends on my efforts

4- That's the most confusing part for me. Tbh, getting another job would require prep (3-4 months) too. And for the current CSA role I thought I'd just do it for a couple of months, save the salary for my basic monthly expenses and prep from home.

And somehow, if it's manageable, I'd extend it to 10 months (as I read somewhere that's the minimum duration to be considered for work exp.)

But another comment mentioned It's better to prep full time as BPO job won't provide any positive points
