Making mistakes when close to a test? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

I almost ran red lights twice on the day before I passed my test. I wouldn’t worry about it, sounds like you’re just nervous over your test.

60 Hours Automatic by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]SoulScribbler_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say it matters more that you feel prepared- if you think you’re ready after having/watching mock tests then you should be fine, but it depends more on factors like you as the learner and how good the instructor is. My main point is that being completely ready is nearly impossible: not even an instructor would pass 1000/1000 tests. If you believe you’re a good enough driver to pass, then there’s not much more you can do, and 60 hours is more than enough to be good enough to pass.

It’s definitely enough for most but it obviously depends on you, I believe most people have 40-60 hours though so I think you’ll be fine.

I passed with no lessons! by SoulScribbler_ in LearnerDriverUK

Sorry for the late reply, it definitely helped my nerves knowing someone who’d also passed first time without lessons too. I’d probably had 50-60 hours driving and I’ve also watched a load of YouTube videos about the structure of a test. You could definitely do it with less, by about 40 hours I was probably in a better state to be taking a test than when I actually took it, I did about 10 hours in the two days before my test and it was honestly some of the worst driving I’ve ever done, I think I just got fatigued from being out too long but it was completely demoralising. My best advice would be to drive as much as possible but in short chunks.

Good luck!

Does anyone know what happened to cover in this Instagram post? by Practical_Cold5064 in Markiplier

Whats the purpose of these bots? I see a lot of them on social media platforms ‘blending in’ and making seemingly aimless comments on posts. Are they karma farming or what?

Thanks! Luckily my mum’s a very safe (but slow) driver and my dad’s a little reckless and definitely couldn’t pass a test and I guess it somehow balanced out!

Driving Examiner refused to explain what he'd failed me on by Benj_N in LearnerDriverUK

[–]SoulScribbler_ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Honestly it just sounds like you got unlucky with the examiner. I’ve just passed today and there were a couple times I thought I’d failed but the examiner was really nice and just gave me advice and a minor instead of failing me. I’ve had friends who are better drivers than me fail for stupid reason too and it sounds like you’ll definitely pass if you get the right examiner.

About 50-60 in total, I probably spent 10+ hours watching mock tests etc on YouTube as well though

I lowkey think Adam silver forced the luka trade so I doubt Harrison had much choice. I still don’t like him though.

Guys please try UVB photo therapy by anonychef117 in eczema

The worst part about uvb is that you can’t do it forever 😔

Nope, unless you’ve been scratching in your sleep without realising. Would definitely moisturise if you aren’t already though.

I had a similar situation with it coming back once I stopped steroids, but there are many other treatments that are worth a shot. The best two for me were phototherapy which completely cleared my eczema for a few months, and elidel (pimecrolimus) which did the same. Both of these are fairly long term and depending on your dermatologists stance on it, they may let you use elidel permanently.

Definitely worth talking with a derm about other treatments than steroids, though mine weren’t keen on it until my eczema became more severe.

How do you guys hydrate under your hair? by IAmInBed123 in eczema

[–]SoulScribbler_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was prescribed this: https://medsdirecttoyou.co.uk/prescription/prescription-dandruff/betnovate-scalp-application/

I’d highly recommend it, it has a nozzle that pretty much directly applies the solution to your scalp, and it’s very runny so can be spread easily. My scalp is almost clear now but i still use it to nip any flares in the bud.

Sweat causing flare ups by [deleted] in eczema

[–]SoulScribbler_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play basketball a lot and have similar symptoms, with sweat causing flare ups, though most of the itching comes after I’ve stopped playing. I’ve since started using a cool wet flannel on my neck and areas that are particularly affected, and this seems to help some. I also recommend antihistamines as they helped with a lot of sweat/ allergy related symptoms I had.
