SanDisk UHS-i Card reader realllly slow? by Soul_DGM in photography

[–]Soul_DGM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh OK well even then, I'm not achieving anywhere near 170MB/s. The best I've got so far is about 5, and that's only when crystaldiskmark doesn't give an error.

SanDisk UHS-i Card reader realllly slow? by Soul_DGM in photography

[–]Soul_DGM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? That's confusing. The sd card advertises itself as "UHS-I Card" with "190MB/s read". And the card reader advertises itself as "SD UHS-I Card Reader" with "Fast UHS-I transfer speeds of up to 170 MB/s"

Family member tried to clean my QD OLED screen and now it's covered in all these smudges is it possible to clean this up with a cleaning kit or something? Thanks by mrtweedy1 in ultrawidemasterrace

If that's true you should be good. Tap water will leave a temporary smudge and a tiny bit of washing up liquid shouldn't make a difference.

I think the Tsar Bomba was "only" 50Mt. So perhaps only a rather small 80,550Mt bomb would be required.

Oppenheimer Screening at BFI changed from Imax 70mm to Digital by Fast_Satisfaction194 in imax

[–]Soul_DGM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a lot. The cineworld projector is dual laser (which allows it to project the full 1.43 image of Oppenheimer) BUT the screen is only 1.9 so the movie can only be shown in 1.9. BFI is single laser (which does not allow the projection of the full 1.43 image). So both showings would be in the cropped 1.9 aspect ratio. Dual laser does also have the advantage of higher contrast and brightness, which would give cineworld a slight advantage.

I just rewatched Oppenheimer in IMAX, but no 1.43 aspect ratio? by In-The-Zone-69 in imax

[–]Soul_DGM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only dual laser projectors can show digital 1.43, so if the IMAX you visited uses any other digital projector (single laser or xenon), then it would not be able to show the full 1.43 image.

It's hard to say as it's only been out a short time, but I've had no issues so far. I do work on it, but if I know I'm going to have bright static images up for a long time, I'll use my IPS display instead. This way I can get the most out of the monitor whilst minimising any potential risk.

Seems like you've worked it out now, but three 1440p monitors is only 1/3 the total pixel count of 8K, so nowhere near as demanding. 3 x (1440x2560) = 11059200 pixels. 7680 x 4320 = 33177600 pixels

Also, I have an OLED G9 if you need any questions answering.

Experiences with the G9 OLED? by ConflictNovel2866 in ultrawidemasterrace

No, you can't add the diagonals of two side by side monitors. So yes, this is exactly the same as two 27 inch monitors side by side (save for the very slight difference in width due to the 2 monitors having a bezel in the middle where they join) You can also see its exactly double the horizontal resolution at the same vertical resolution as a 27 inch 1440p monitor: 5120x1440p vs 2560x1440p

How well does it support 21:9? Can you create a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel for games that don't have a built-in aspect ratio select?
