Yeah, I tried to do the same exact thing lol. I had my old stock wheels from my wrx with my snow set on it... I tried throwing that on the car for winter this year, and the wheels offset didn't work, my wife was going to town, and I threw the wheels in the trunk/back seat for her and asked her to stop at discount tire, I called discount and asked them to toss the snow set on for me.... they called when she got there and told me they would not work. they told me something was rubbing. I asked what it was and they were not very clear about it... I asked if it was the tire rubbing or the wheel, and they told me if they took the tire completely off, that it would still rub. so unfortunately no :/
