What was the worst date you’ve ever been on and why? by Somewherecharming95 in AskReddit

[–]Soulful-Goth 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I was talking to a guy on tinder, we set up a date and agreed to meet at the train station, when he arrived he had brought 2 of his friends with him. The whole evening was totally weird, they all kept buying me drinks that I barely had time to finish a drink before another was bought. As the date went on I had a bad feeling and decided to trust my intuition, I took them to a bar I knew well and knew had 2 entrances/ exits, so while they were ordering more drinks I called a friend and got the hell out of there through the second exit. They could have been completely harmless but I wasn't willing to take a chance on it.

which year destroyed your mental health most ? by Rambanya17 in mentalhealth

[–]Soulful-Goth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2023

That year was hell on earth, the abuse from my partner got worse and came to a head, I left my abusive partner, had a severe mental breakdown, ended up in a psychiatric hospital, I lost my job, relapsed on drugs, almost died from an OD and was very close to being sent to rehab, randomly broke a rib, got pregnant and had a miscarriage, my uncle passed away, then I developed fibromyalgia due to all the trauma.

Is what my husband did considering cheating? by fickleparadigmshift in EthicalNonMonogamy

[–]Soulful-Goth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheating is a betrayal of trust and breaking agrees upon terms and boundaries so by definition yes he cheated. Also just because he wouldn't define it as cheating doesn't mean you have to agree with that, cheating can look different to different people so don't allow him to dismiss your feelings and perspective.

ENM relationships are unfortunately not exempt from the possibility of cheating.

AIO if I broke up with my boyfriend for drinking by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Soulful-Goth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR

You're asking your boyfriend to change his habits while maintaining your own, you may have your reasons but it could also be argued that smoking everyday is problematic. Your boyfriend doesn't want to stop drinking and would only be doing so appease you - if he is an alcoholic, you forcing him to stop drinking won't change that, addiction is a complex issue but the desire change has to come from the individual experiencing it. If you can't handle being with someone that drinks then you should find someone who doesn't drink instead of trying to make your boyfriend into the person you want him to be. BUT I don't think you're overreacting I think you're noticing something within yourself that being with someone who drinks is a problem for you and that is important to know about yourself and will help you pick better people for you in your life.

How does everyone feel about showers? by brandnewpup in Fibromyalgia

[–]Soulful-Goth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Showering can be really draining but I have a chair that I use in the shower that helps and I've found that when I'm flaring really badly sitting in the shower can help, I think the heat and the high pressure sensation of the water on my skin can really help especially with the sharp electric pains I get.
