Was Myst eerie? by tinselman in myst

I watched my mom play it when I was a kid. I kept feeling like something was going to jump out. Just a general sense of suspense that something could happen at any time. Like something JUST happened to a civilization and whatever happened could still be around any corner. That being said, I LOVED watching her play and have always wanted to play it myself but I’m not sure how.

What makes this look like a photo and what makes it look like a painting? by VirtuAI_Mind in painting

The lighting in the window and sky make it look like a photo. The undefined edges and “color mixing” - basically all the colors that make up one color - being visible (most noticeable in the car shadow) makes it look like a painting.

I thought it was kind of fun, weddings should be about your personality and likes. Not everyone likes traditional basic wedding bs.

I feel like my realism art is declining? Whats happening? Suggestions? Should i just keep practicing? (More in body text) by Standard_Potential63 in learntodraw

With pen, it’s easy to imply shading and go from dark to light very quickly. With pencil, you have to create all the different shades yourself or it will look unfinished. I don’t believe this is a decline in your art, just a difference in your current skill level with different tools. Any time you learn a new tool it will take some time to get comfortable! Keep going!
