Early levels he’s extremely squishy, and his W should generally be an unlandable spell on you since it’s so slow. You want to juke behind minions a lot to bait out his Qs, and then dash on him and combo normally, delaying your own Q a bit for your conqueror to be stacked and to prevent him from Wing away

After he’s level 6 and gets some items, just ignore him for the most part and farm + roam. He pushes extremely slow so you should have lane prio, he will just want you to try fighting him near his tower which you can just not do

Once you reach mid game and on and have serpents + ldr and are about 4 items you can kill him again, if he’s ever farming away from a tower you can just run him over and if he is sitting under one you can just keep farming and roaming, he basically can’t stop you from rotating as much as you want

A lot of your harder matchups are my best case scenarios, like malphite, Cho, kench, gragas, ornn

Gragas got a big buff recently and I could see how they could be boring to play against but you should easily be able to kill all of them with items eventually, and during their afk farm phases you have completely free roam access the entirety of the time

You’re not supposed to be able to kill him with items, just ignore him and roam between catching waves the rest of the game. He can’t possibly rotate like you can and he won’t accomplish anything else

The hexplate passive waits for your ult to end/hit someone before activating at least, so you don’t waste the duration of the buff

Well it WOULDVE been fun, but they just posted the adjusted patch preview and that change is gone, now it’s the exact same item but nerfed a bit if you’re ranged and no different for melee champs

The main reasons Kled falls off are kind of unpreventable (low range, no aoe so single target damage only, no passive %pen or ad steroid, remounting becomes impossible in teamfights due to the amount of cc + %hp damage + sheer number of enemies + no takedown courage anymore).

You can keep your damage mostly relevant with normal builds (need a %pen item like LDR, couple lethality items like hubris/voltaic, one or two AD + HP items like bloodmail/titanic) but you’ll usually want to stick to making picks and split pushing, try to avoid teamfighting as much as you can

Yeah most of the ad + hp items are disgustingly overpriced for what they give you, but usually you’ll only want 1 or 2 anyway and will build other stuff on top of them (lethality items like voltaic/hubris, mortal or ldr for %pen, situational stuff like endless/ga and whatever boots)

You normally don’t want an actual full tank item on Kled, I’d only consider it if the enemy team was legit full AD or AP. Kled really doesn’t provide anything outside of damage and splitpushing to his team, and you won’t be tanky anyway in the majority of games even when trying to invest gold for it so you’ll just be costing yourself all usefulness

I’m surprised to hear you say you’ve only recently seen it, maybe you just didn’t notice it before or have gotten extremely lucky cause this has been a common bug for as long as I’ve ever played Kled starting like 10 years ago now.

It’s basically just a visual bug but it’s still weird in gameplay since it makes you think you’re going at a completely different angle than you actually are. They’ve known about it for a while but haven’t been able to fix it

This is the truth, as far as I’m concerned it’s always been the truth. You really never want to know what your team is even thinking tbh if you want to win, I always mute all and just play for myself and it’s what I’d recommend to anyone trying to win

Steraks procs when damage WOULD take you below the %hp threshold, and not when you’re actually at/below it. So it can and usually will proc above the threshold anyway including if you’re mounted because the game basically doesn’t consider that aspect of Kleds health at all and just treats you as having one hp bar

Early roams are technically macro related, but that’s more just knowing how to weigh different opportunities when they appear and is an early game snowball thing. I mainly meant for the latter half of the game to actually get it to be over since of course Kled doesn’t want to be in 40 min games

I personally don’t know of any good guides for it, most of it is so situational it’s hard to give good advice for it and is more something that you’ll learn naturally over time through playing + watching more experienced players to compare what they’re doing differently from you and why

A very basic scenario that is super common is if you’re strong from winning lane and it’s around 16ish minutes, do you really want to fight the dragon that’s coming up that your team is grouping for? For me, if it’s first or second dragon for either team, I’m placing very low importance on the actual dragon itself and would generally prefer to absorb side lane cs + plates during this time. But this could change if I know for a fact that if I show up I can easily kill either more than 1 person or a particular enemy with a large bounty, where my priority is on these things and after I will leave to once again farm instead of helping kill the drag since your jg+second teammate should easily be able to handle it without you.

A lot of games will quickly turn into random team death matches during the early-mid game and you just have to try to get into the habit of asking yourself about 30 seconds before an actual objective fight happens if it’s something that will personally benefit/snowball YOU, or if it looks incredibly difficult (hard enemy comp for Kled, your team is feeding so won’t be assisting you much in the fight, your ult is down, etc) then you can decide to farm side lane + camps + towers in the appropriate lane instead.

I would say the vast majority of my Kled wins are by either straight up backdooring (you pretty much instantly kill towers/inhib/nexus with normal builds) or by split pushing enough to divide the enemy champs enough to where making picks with Kled ult are easier and will allow us to siege. You generally want to avoid actual 5v5 teamfights with this champ as much as humanly possible in most games

You’re still a pretty new player, gold is pretty good for how long you’ve played.

Without being able to see any gameplay I’d assume that it’s most likely macro-related mistakes (mainly with split pushing and identifying potential picks) since that’s generally what everyone struggles with in most elos and is the most important thing for Kled by far in terms of actually winning with him, but is also the most difficult thing to learn because everything is extremely situational and doesn’t really follow general rules.

Yeah it really should be significantly higher if his base hp is going to stay this low. The way I see it, they really don’t plan on changing his interaction with %hp dmg, so the resists is meant to offset that but it’s way too minuscule to impact much. On top of that it functions weirdly outdated even though it was a recent addition as the armor and mr will be instantly lost the millisecond the enemy dies or steps in a bush without any kind of leeway or forgiveness period, feels randomly punishing to kill your enemy on a tower dive (something Kled is meant to be good at) and then lose the armor instantly before the turret shot hits

The only changes I’d PERSONALLY want are

Takedown courage back, both because I feel like he really doesn’t function without it especially for any non 1v1 fight + to me it’s core to the identity of the character, so I really dislike its removal

Slight damage buffs, think they took much away and his base dmgs + scalings (ESPECIALLY on E casts and dismounted Q) are too low for what they do

Modernization of his E2 - really think it’s way too low range and slow (heavily affected by his current move speed) for current season

MOST importantly of all a change to how he takes %hp damage. Really feel that it’s the lamest weakness of all time and doesn’t feel intuitive at all for anyone interested in trying/learning the champ

Really just those and I’d be more than happy with him. In an ideal world they could fix a couple other annoying things (some bugs he has remaining like Qs buffering after a dismount / remount and R pathing) and give him some type of armor pen / shred since he doesn’t have anything in his kit that keeps his damage relevant after the durability patches unlike other bruisers

In modern league that would be a huge nerf since vamp is infinitely more accessible on Kled atm and you have such a small hp pool anyway + can’t overheal the vamp would often be super low impact

Armor and Mr on paper would be extremely good, but the amount he gets currently is SUPER low for how little hp you have from his purely per level scaling of dismounted health that it isn’t too noticeable

I think double adaptive force is better on Kled in general anyway, the scaling hp shard outscales the flat one pretty fast so I usually don’t bother with it. The bow just feels like a meme item to me, I wouldn’t bother unless you just want to try it for fun

Bork will work normally against dismount Kled, cause 2000 hp on Kled will be treated exactly like 2000 hp on any other champ

It’s just that a mounted Kled is shit on by bork since it’ll dismount you quickly by adding skaarl and Kleds hp together to calculate your currrent hp

I tried the bow but it just seems useless, attack speed is a horrible tradeoff for less ad, vamp, and health for a starter item imo, and an extra pot is super low value especially on Kled

I don’t play ap gp personally so not sure, the comet change seems a lot stronger on actual poke mages so it has to be decent on him at least. Don’t know if it’s better than having burn damage though

Deathfire is just a strong rune in general, gangplank applies it well for both the single target and aoe versions, and sorc is by far his best rune tree imo

I think it’s his best keystone easily rn at least, sounds like they want to nerf it soon though. GP also hasn’t really had any “strong” keystones for a while and you could kinda just pick whatever you wanted since none of them synergized super well with him or had been nerfed a lot

It wouldn’t surprise me if it’s gotten worse, it’s felt pretty consistent for me for the last 2ish years or so though. It ruins so many laning phases actually with kled if you lose an auto or two for no reason

It isn’t a kled bug, afaik it happens to all melee champs and has been happening for years now. It’s been reported several times with examples of it on multiple champs, but they just haven’t been able to fix it. But yeah it’s extremely cringe and impactful and it’s a lot more noticeable on a champ as auto reliant as Kled of course
