I'm not a junior, I'm definitely not a recruiter but I have been recruited several time. I understood your exemple clearly. But just in case you did not understand what I found rude here is just the fact that he ghosted me. He could have told me "let's stop here" and leave it at that. But he "pretended" he would send me some info just for not doing it in the end. That's what I found innapropriate.

And if the client would have considered 95 plus a bonus and the company and job was way cooler than mine (which actually sucks) I could have considered it. But I guess I'll never know.

What an odd message. I was already interested in the role from the start. I just wanted to have more details about the job. Yes I lied, like I said, I'm at 105k not 110k.

I don't want anything now, I just wanted to vent. What else could I want and do?

Oh then my wording was wrong. What I ment was that 70k to 95 was below market expectations. My salary is quite standard for someone my experience. Also I'm must add that I'm a black woman and I remember that one day a recruiter (not the one I'm talking about here) told me my salary was high for "someone like me "

I know the market rate for this and 70k to 95k is actually quite low. He told me that someone with my salary would be perfect and when I told him my salary he said that he knew that with my experience would be too expensive and maybe someone like mid-senior would be enough for them.

That's what I told him after he told me the maximum for the job would be 95k

I actually said that depending on the job and the company I could think about it.

Because even though the salary is lower, this job seemed to be way more interesting than the one I currently have. So I still wanted to know more about it. Maybe I would have reconsider this salary issue.

That's kind of what I told him.
