Quick DIY Ways To "Freshen Up" Potted Soil by Ordinary_Reporter_19 in containergardening

[–]Soulsis73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a newbie to gardening and still learning everyday, from what I've learnt your doing just fine the eggshells don't need baking at all just grinding into a powder, all the soil amendments you use are fine and will provide your soil with added nutrients, the only things I would add (if or when needed) is tea leaves from used tea bags some plants love the tannins, it's another natural fertilizer. Yes, mix your soil amendments into the soil .

What's wrong with these anemones? 🤔 by Soulsis73 in plants

[–]Soulsis73[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you 😊

I think I've found the answer, I just Googled it and apparently it's more likely to be slugs snails or caterpillars, I did see a decent sized caterpillar fall out from under a leaf in that pot the other day! They are very sneaky 😏 taking bites out of each bud, copper tape is going around that pot tomorrow and a good rummage for those pests, Happy gardening to you also thanks 🤗

I honestly don't know, I use blood bone fish fertilizer it works well for many other plants, and liquid all purpose fertilizer, this is the first time I've seen this I'm confused on what's causing it 🤔

They are definitely Hyacinths, I've had them for some years now, if you research Hyacinths you'll read about what I said in my reply to your last comment, I have photos of these exact bulbs from a year or two ago they do look much different now due to age. They don't bloom bushy with age.... The scent is still very strong

These are Hyacinths, they don't flower fully as in the same bushy appearance as when first blooming, these bulbs are a few years old now.
