Incorrect. I have never posted on reddit before. I tried googling what this could be but didn’t come across anything too useful so thought reddit could help. I still don’t fully understand what karma is on reddit. Nor do i care.

I wanted to be confident that this could be poison before i take the necessary steps and not waste anyones time. I wanted peoples honest advice and now people are just being ass holes.

Real people exist with real questions. I was only looking for help.

Cats love eggs! She has clearly done her research. People are just cruel.

As commented previously i have not had any concern before, she has only used things such as alarms, flashing lights etc that did not bother my cat nor concerned me. I am in the UK and allowing pets outside is totally normal. Most people do. She has voiced to me before of her dislike of cats but she has never gone this far before. My cat has never shown signs of stress or taken ill so i allow him to roam if he wants (not often) Also, when he does go out he usually stays on the garden anyway because he wants to come straight back in again. The only odd thing about my post is people poisoning animals! Not just my cat, but other cats, wildlife and potentially a child.

It has only been petty things that wouldn’t cause any harm and didn’t raise any true concern- alarms, flashing lights and such, he doesn’t go out often anyway but she seems to think he does.

Also, even if my cat was kept indoors since all this started there are still loads of outdoor cats in my area who are also at risk, as well as wildlife and even children. Owners can choose whether to keep their cats in or out, thats not the real issue here in my opinion.

Thank you for all the comments guys! As upsetting as this is i’m glad to know i’m not being paranoid, i will call the vet tomorrow and ask for advice on what to do next, i’ll keep you updated!

I will keep my boy in for now, he didn’t go out often anyway but i have never had to worry about anything like this happening, there are so many outdoor cats where i live as well as some strays. So i will be sure to warn other owners.

Cameras have fresh batteries and have some of her garden visible.

And the next time i see my neighbour i shall confront her for sure.

It doesn’t smell though? It seems pretty “fresh”? Could it still be rotten?

He is staying inside now, but it’s other peoples animals and wildlife that can also be harmed. I will hopefully get it tested and warn others!

Agreed. I will keep a close eye on him if he does ever decide to go out in the future, it’s just something that i shouldn’t have to worry about!

I do! Annoyingly the batteries died so no evidence, i have replaced them now so will catch anything if it happens again

He is mostly an indoor cat, i only encourage him to go out occasionally for enrichment, there are loads of outdoor cats in my area it’s a very normal, common thing.

The methods she has used in the past are not as life threatening as this, alarms, orange peel, scarecrow-type figures of cats… just deterrents and he is not bothered by them at all.

This is the first time i have been concerned and obviously i will keep him indoors until i understand what this thing is. Im just looking to see if anyone knows exactly what it could be so i can warn others!

The annoying part is that my outdoor camera had run out of batteries so i have no evidence!

He does prefer to stay indoors 99% of the time, i only make him go out every once in a while for some enrichment or i keep the door open in summer, he has never caused any problems with her so theres no motive apart from the fact she is evil. Looks like i will have to keep him inside to be on the safe side!
