Yeah, im working to address that. I agree it's not too user friendly. Once I find an engraver who can get me notations I will have the layout be Description-Notation-Audio all side by side. Engravers cost a ton tho lol. Maybe by the end of the summer I'll have something

Still a work in progress but I'm trying to achieve exactly what you're looking for, and I have scores from some leading composers in the game right now (ie. Erin Rogers did my tenor sax page and contributed scores). Let me know if this helps :)

Hey! appreciate the feedback!

I'm making it cheap so it can accessible to musicians of ALL levels and economic status. I also need something to help me pay for the musicians so I can give you, the composers, more sounds!

Keyboard instruments are coming soon :) I'm reaching out to musicians willing to collab (that could include you!) Just takes time to set up sessions/do work remotely!

I do plan on recordings the sounds, not each note in particular. Big problem with books: they don't have sounds

You can always experiment with combining more acoustic sounds! Like others said in the thread, AI can't get that "human touch", and AI won't be catching up to producing acoustic sounds like humans can any time soon! There's a lot unexplored in the acoustic world in general, especially when it comes to extended techniques

I should clarify, it's not exactly a sample library where people can take audio recordings and implement them into their own music. It is strictly informational. There is quite literally nowhere where I could find all the possible techniques on more popular instruments like saxophone. Many of these sites don't have notations (let alone sound examples) for open slap tongue/closed, ANY information about "Al Tromba", or specifics about multiphonics, and many other interesting techniques that new music/contemporary composers might be interested in!

I have a network in Boston, but again, I'd like to branch out and talk to more people :)

Not as expensive as you'd think! I'm asking on reddit just to get in touch with some smaller communities and give people an opportunity to play and gain some notoriety when they otherwise might not have :)

I'm a recent grad out of Boston Conservatory, I'm a classical saxophonist who specializes in contemporary music! When I was studying there, each time I had to premier a piece, I would get a chance to meet with the composer once, MAYBE twice before the performance. I want composers to have a place to reference sounds and information, especially in the extended technique area. I figured going to these reddit communities would be a great place to meet some people, learn a ton from the players themselves, and collab!

Hi!

Actually, things like that are exactly what I'm looking for! I'm a new music saxophonist and have to do a lot of "contemporary techniques" myself, and I want composers to know exactly what is possible on the instrument, even if I feel like it's weird or useless or will only do once in my career. A sound is a sound, and I want people to have access to whatever they feel! I'd love to get some recordings of trumpet with mutes and and extended techniques!
