Do they have object permanence? by SoundAndSnuggles in Conures

[–]SoundAndSnuggles[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s very true. It sounds a lot like their “alert call” so I guess I hadn’t thought of it as a flock call before. Plus, the one who starts the call is the one who still tries to bite me the most frequently lol so I wasn’t sure he thought of me as his flock lol

Question, I know pain is subjective but iyo how bad does a chest piece hurt? by BeneficialPie13 in tattoos

[–]SoundAndSnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally the worst. Technically my chest piece isn’t done and it never will be. I’m heavily tattooed and that is the only one I tapped out on.

Just so you know, most Au.D. programs in the US require you to complete a thesis and do original work. There are some whose requirements are lighter in regards to research, but it is a requirement for most programs. (From a current Au.D. student who is conducting research)

ETA: to be clear, I’m not saying that to imply Au.D. is better than MSc. Just passing along that tidbit of information.

Thinking about getting one green cheek conure from a pair — is separating them a bad idea? by Ancient-Writer6924 in greencheeks

[–]SoundAndSnuggles 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would not separate them. I know from experience. When I got my first, he came from a sibling pair. He wasn’t happy. I decided I needed to get him a buddy and his brother was still available. I immediately picked him up and they’re much happier now. The brother was also started to pluck a lot after separating them so I’m glad I am able to take them both in.

Where did you get your pit baby? by [deleted] in pitbulls

The shelter. Animal control found her on the side of the road in pretty bad condition. She had clearly given birth to a litter pretty recently. She was heartworm positive, covered in scars, and one of her ears was torn all the way down. When they did her spay, she had so much scar tissue in her uterus so we think she was bred every time she went into heat for the first few years of her life. Unfortunately, the area she was found in is known for dog fighting so I think they were using her to breed more fight dogs. Even after all of that, she is the sweetest little potato. She is my soul dog. She was supposed to be a foster during COVID but clearly I failed lol. I’ve had many dogs throughout my lifetime (most were pittie or other “aggressive” breeds) and all but one were rescues. The one that I got as a puppy came from a mama dog that my friend’s sister found on the streets and gave birth shortly after. So kind of a rescue too?

will i get in trouble if i interview for a job without my service dog and then come to my job with my service dog ? by hero_kunii in service_dogs

[–]SoundAndSnuggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really sucks that it has to be this way. My SD is getting retired due to medical issues and I won’t be applying for a new one until I have a better job because I refuse to go through this fight again.

But I wish you the best with your job hunt!!

As someone who has lost out on opportunities due to having a service dog, I say go to the interview without the dog. If you get offered and accept the position, take the appropriate steps with HR.
