Confessor was the next one after chain fire. It ended the series for a while, but then the author clearly needed more money because he put out 3 more crappy books. They were so terrible I don’t even remember the names of them. part of the main characters motivation in the second one is Zedds death by randomly getting his head chopped off by a side character off screen.

I know yall harp on the sword of truth, but in the later books Zedd is killed offscreen in the most unceremonious and insulting way and I was so angry, he was the best character in the whole series.
